Unique Table Plan for under £20 - Can it be done?

kharding2014, 29 December, 2013 at 18:04 Posted on Planning 0 22

Hi,

So after looking at my budget this evening it seems like we have overspent and need to make some cutbacks (sob).

Does anyone have any ideas for table plans that are a little more interesting than a printed A3 board? Whenever I search on Etsy or Ebay I just get the A3 boards.

Thanks in advance

I managed to get a really beautiful baroque style framed mirror on eBay for £8. I will print the table plans on A5 pieces of paper and stick them on. I think it looks really nice and not cheap at all. Have a look on eBay you get some good bargains!

We have just covered an old square canvas style picture we had in some pretty fabric and made two little 'washing line's with twine.

We are then going to print each table plan out on a little piece of kraft card and use mini pegs to pin them to the twine.

We have used beach hut fabric and the table kraft card bits will be in the shape of a beach hut to go with our seaside theme but there are loads of possibilities so you could do something similar to fit in with your theme ;-)

This is a really good idea. Thanks :-) We have mini pegs and luggage tags for our place settings so it would be nice to tie the two together. Now I just need to find an old picture and some fabric.

This sounds really nice. I think I definitely need to look at a picture frame of some kind. Can I ask where you are getting yours from?

Hiya, I got a framed cork notice board from TKMAXX, covered it with some pretty wrapping paper from Clintons and used card to make tags and name places and stamped them on, and some sticky numbers and letters, the frame was about £12.00, stamp set about a £5.00 and then plus paper and card- definitely not much over £20.00.

    This was the finished result:

Hope that helps give you some more inspiration Smiley smile

There are some great multi-photo frames here, which could give you something akin to what you originally wanted?

    http://www.therange.co.uk/search?asug=&keywords=frame#keywords=frame&layout=searchresults.layout&performSearch=false&visible=true&productsPerPage=205

you could paint it in your own colour scheme.

I think mine will cost less than a fiver, I haven't put it together properly yet so can't give you a proper flash but it's basically going to be a map (£1.50) with the route of our first date traced with stick on gems (£1 for a sheet of them), with wallet size photos of each place (30p each x6) which will be the table names, backed on card to make it stand up. Then I'll probably have the guest names on luggage tags which I already have from making the save the dates which can be attached to the map (that's the bit I haven't figured out yet).

I haven't described it very well at all, haha, these are the bits and pieces just use imagination to see the finished product.

I got this for £9 from eBay. I'm going to use luggage tags instead of cards and just tie them on.

Its being used as a photo holder in our living room at the moment so even if we don't end up using it for the wedding it won't be a wasted purchase.

Not entirely unique as it was bought from a shop at £12.99 but different to others I have seen - it was a 'Live, Laugh, Love' photoframe with multi apertures that we filled with our table plan details and some pictures. I can't find a photo of our finished one off hand but here is a link to buy the frame: http://www.therange.co.uk/live-laugh-love-large-collage-frame//the-range/fcp-product/72272

My table plan was a mirror that I managed to get as a freebie as my work were throwing it out and a chalk pen that cost me £3 from Amazon!

There are loads of mirrors in the sales at the moment, try Matalan and the Range if there is one near you.

These are both lovely. The top one I really like but I don't think that I have the ability to re create. The bottom one might be more doable for me though. Thanks :-)
