Unlikely soft spots

JK, 12 March, 2009 at 23:47 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 64

Mine's Michael Portillo. I never thought I'd say that, but I really like him. I want to be his friend.

Yours? (And no Stephen Frys or David Mitchells, they're neither weird nor unlikely).

I get the urge to mother Amy Winehouse; I used to go to the same primary school as her. My friend's mum was a waitress and used to say Michael P was a total nobber as a customer - sleazy been the exact word ?

I know what you mean about MP. TBH I think losing his seat was the making of him.

I have a bit of a soft spot for Kelvin McKenzie.

I'd like to be adopted by Goldie Hawn.

Also - not so much as a soft spot, but more a hankering, Ray Winstone. Especially as Henry VIII.

You're not alone. Every time I watch 'This Week', I covet Diane Abbott's place on that sofa. ? He also features high on my list of Voices I Could Listen To For Hours.

At the moment I can't think of any others I'm willing to admit to on here.

I agree about Portillo. He's really good on This Week (though Andrew Neil's intonation drives me mental).

Piers Morgan is another. I want to despise him but I can't.

I have an unlikely slight crush on PM. ?

Also, there was a guy on Grand Designs the other night - a joiner or something - who was just so gorgeous and manly and articulate, I wanted to rip his clothes off and suck him off there and then.

Norm form New Yankee Workshop. not in a sexual way, but I want him to be my uncle, and make me furniture.

Am I allowed to have Kevin McCloud? He is rather super, despite the leather jackets he unfortunately insists on wearing.

If I can't have KM, then I'd like Brian Blessed. I wish he was my dad

No - he's not unlikely, it's quite normal to think him super.

Anthony Stewart Head. I can't quite decide whether I want him to be my dad or my naughty secret boyfriend, but maybe that's half the appeal.

I couldn't be doing with Kevin McCloud. He's too smug and his nose is all pointy ?

Martin Johnson - he's so sexy. I think it's because he's just so utterly masculine and rugged.

These are non-sexual soft-spots, but I LOVE Michael Portillo and Boris Johnson. As someone who's stood for Labour twice, I find this quite disconcerting!

    Craig Revel Horwood.

In the words of Claudia Winkleman 'I love him so much I want to be Grant'.

(Grant is his partner for those of you not so enamoured of the man and therefore not up on the details of his personal life).

Urgh, a girl I was friends with at school is going out with PM. To me, he's about as awful as a person can get.

Would this be the place to mention my unlikely soft spot for Archie from Balamory? ?

    Martin O'Neil.

It started with the way he used to do a wee jump on the touchline at Celtic in slightly embarrassed fashion when they scored, developed through his man-crush gushing over Leonardo during the World Cup and continues with his ability to ignore any sarcastic questioning of Lineker et al on MotD and give an earnest yet still amusing answer that makes them look a bit foolish for not taking it seriously. As you can tell from this paragraph, I am very fond of him. ?

    Mmmmmm. Is he unlikely though?

I was a gonna when he ran the sword through the mayor 'sigh' that seems so long ago now.

Trevor McDonald. I absolutley love him and want him to be my grandad (although if you read the papers it appears I might actually be of an age where he'd prefer me as a girlfriend ?)

I know someone who worked with him and said hes as wonderful as you'd expect, which is always nice to hear.

Ditto Piers Morgan. I am reading the insider at the moment and he is really quite insecure.

I'd quite like to give Alan Titchmarsh a squeeze. That's really bad isn't it.

That joiner blokey on Grand Designs was truly gorgeous, my H was trying to talk to me and I had to tell him to be quiet as I needed to concentrate ?
