Update: Mr WT and eye tests

WelshTotty, 18 July, 2008 at 10:47 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 6

A breakthrough happened last night.

As I was cooking dinner, as always Mr WT decides to be loving and cuddly (not the best timing seeing as the steaks are under the grill, the sauce needs stirring etc) Anyway, He grabs me, gives me a kiss and a cuddle and asks me 'do you love me?' (this is a little ritual we have every day) 'Yes, of course I do' I reply... 'Do you love me?'...'Yes. I do' he says. The converstion then went like this:

Me- If you loved me youd go to the opticians and get your eyes tested

Him - Oh come on, dont still nag me about that

Me - You obvioulsy dont love me then as Im only asking you to get an eye test cos I care about you

Him - emotional blackmail?

Me - yep, seems its the only thing I have left, So how much do you love me again?

Him - Lots, ohhh ok, ok I'll go and get my eyes tested.

Me - good, I'll book us both in next week then

RESULT!

Woo, well done you on the manipulation stakes. I often resort to the same myself.

No idea of the history here, but if he works with a computer for most of the day, his company should pay for the eye test for him. He might need to check with them how to do it, some have voucher schemes

Can't beat emotional blackmail! My H is exactly the same and won't go because he had an eye test 5 years ago and he was borderline for needing glasses. He still nicks mine at concerts though to get a better view.

Glad you've got the result you want, why can't boys just accept that we know what is best for them?

    Great result!

And after the eye test reward him with something he really wants (and you're prepared to do) . . . and hopefully it won't be so difficult next time ?

    Well done!

Nowadays, it only takes me about a day to make Mr Smith do something. But that's with a gentle nudge every hour or so!

    ?

    Well done you though!
