Update on my aunt's murder

Ice Queen, 17 April, 2009 at 07:53 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

The court case against my aunt's ex husband for conspiracy to murder started on Wednesday - he has pleaded not guilty, as we expected

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/5166208/Failed-businessman-used-hitman-to-secure-ex-wifes-475k-legacy.html

The case is expected to last up to 5 weeks

Once again thanks to everyone for their support over the last 18 months

I hope that a speedy resolution of all this is achieved. It must be so hard, having to go through it all like this. Thinking of your family as this horrible time ....

Oh gosh the article was hard reading. It doesnt seem like 18 months already. I really hope that the trial goes as it sounds like it should and that he and the other man get what is coming to them. It must be such an awful thing to be dealing with as a family ?

I really hope it goes as smoothly as it can.

He's been in custody since mid September and has been refused bail 3 times. It's just so sad, I grew up with him as my uncle, and to even begin to imagine he's involved in this has been so difficult to deal with

How bizarre you should post this today IQ. I had a dream last night that I was typing asking you about your Aunt and how the case was going.

What a difficult article to read, as others said. I'm so sorry - it must be so traumatic for you and your family. I sincerely hope both men are brought to justice ?

Peaches you must be psychic - they've said this trial could last up to 5 weeks, then of course there will be another one once they can get the other guy back from Thailand

I am completely drained, I'm still getting over my knee op, having an ankle op in 2.5 weeks and will then be in plaster for 6 weeks but at least I won't be in pain everyday then like I am now, OH's Nan is back in hospital and is critical and the court case is ongoing

Still on the positive OH's sister had her first baby Easter Sunday so we have a new niece

Oh hell, you've got so much going on, it's no wonder you're drained. When I had my foot operation, friends who had had the same or similar op were staggered at how long it was taking me to recover, but stress does that to the body - takes the resources for aiding recovery and uses them to help the body cope with stress, therefore prolonging healing. So make sure you take care of yourself.

From experience, having a non-weight bearing leg is hell on earth, and it's so hard relying on others to help you and fetch and carry. I hope you're accepting help and not feeling guilty for asking for it. Tough though when you're an independent type! Good luck with your ankle op. I feel for you - double whammy ?

Sorry to read about your OH's Nan. Worrying time all round for you all.

Great news about your new niece. Some sunshine to your lives ?
