Hey!
Dont know if you remember me saying a while ago that we were going to take on a cat who has FIV (feline aids) and was dumped in a vat of hot tar. Anyway, we collected him from the rehoming centre on Monday and I thought I'd flash him to you since loads of you were interested! His name is Tarquin (due to his history)!!
He settled in instantly, we lost all possession rights over our home the moment he walked in....its his domain now, we are only allowed to reside here as he is so kind as to let us! Hehe! He's been really good, using his litter tray, and ignoring the rats completely (which we were concerned about). And we were told that he is often vicious. At the centre only certain people were allowed in his pen in case he attacked! We thought we might be taking on a real handful but wanted to give him a chance since he's had such a rubbish time......Well, its nonsense! He is the soppiest cat I've ever had. Bend down to stroke him and he drops to the floor and rolls over to have his belly rubbed. All guests are greeted by him rubbing around their legs. He wakes us up in the morning all purring and happy, and he loves to play chase with his goldfish on a string!
We're so glad we took him on, hopefully, even with the aids, he should live a long and happy life with us! Glad they didnt put him down, its policy in a lot of places to put FIV cats down as noone is willing to take them. It would have been a shame to lose such a character!!
ANyway, here he is!
Here he is being treated by OH to chicken!
And insisting he get more chicken!
