Vails and tiaras

shellsworth, 22 August, 2011 at 14:11 Posted on Planning 0 22

Hey ladies

Just wondering where did you get your vail and tiara from?

The bridal shop where I ordered my dress have a large stock in but the cheapest vail is about £95 and I havent really looked at the tiaras but each one I tried on was triple figures!!

So, feeling a bit conscious after overspending on the dress, I was wondering where your got yours from? and if they were expensive or a bargain?

Starstruck, one of the HIB's on here made my tiara bespoke for me & it came to £58 with pearls & plenty of swarovski crystals. UKweddingveils.co.uk are sending me a sample tonight of their fabric & edging, I want a 72" scattered crystal two tier veil with soutache edging which is going to be about £45.

I got my tiara from Glitzy Secrets and my Veil from www.veilsonline.co.uk

The tiara was almost identical to one i tried on from Ivory and co which was £195, but i paid £45 for mine. And my veil was £40 plus P+P which was at least £100 less than the same in the bridal shop.

Dont be scared to shop around, I have got myself some great bargains doing this x

    Hi,

I designed my veil and had a hib make it for a fraction of the price that bridal shops charged but she isn't around any more unfortunately. £95 isn't that bad for a veil but I'm sure girls on here have used some websites which are cheaper so hopefully they will give you some recommendations.

As for tiaras feel free to look at my website www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk. Unfortunately it's undergoing maintenance so it isn't that great at the moment but my facebook page is full of ideas https://www.facebook.com/lynseysdesigns1 and the albums are in here https://www.facebook.com/lynseysdesigns1#!/media/albums/?id=138437779505448.

It's important to pick a hair accessory to compliment your wedding dress so if you wanted to post some pictures of that feel free to do so and you'll get other HIBS being able to suggest various ideas. I wrote this article which might be useful to you http://rufflesandpearls.com/wondering-what-hair-piece-to-wear-on-your-big-day/

If you need any help just shout.

    Lynsey x

I got my veil from a website called Wedding Veils direct. It was about £40 and it's beautiful - there are also cheaper options if you don't want embroidery/jewels.

I have ordered my hairband (tiaras didn't really work for me) from one of the jewellery HIBs on here, also for about £40.

I also got my veil from pink margaret! Its stunning - elbow length with swarovski crystals dotted on it, all for £32!

I can highly recommend lynseys designs for tiaras and bridal jewellery - www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk - she is a HIB on here (I think she might have already posted above). Her tiaras and jewellery are gorgeous, and fab prices too.

The bridal shops, in my opinion, are a rip off!

There was a seller on ebay who has been recommended before for veils but I ca't remeber what her shop was. Some of the Chinese ones I have heard the colours can be a bit off.

I also sell tiaras at low prices and they are all on sale or return if you are not looking for a bespoke one, as mine are all diamante.

I can only help with Bird cage veils and tiaras/combs/headbands. Always happy to help with the tiara and create a design that suits your budget. Also have a collection called the Essence collection launching soon that is budget concious. ?

My veil came from www.veilsonline.co.uk too. A very helpful lady who send me samples so I could match the colour and edge trim. She copied my dream veil that would have cost me nearly £200 in the shop, for just £50. I tried buying one from China through ebay but it was too stiff.

My veil was from ebay though ... you just need to check on the sellers feedback to see if the goods are good quality or cheap flimsy things.

I got my Tiara from an antiques shop ages ago for £8, it sort of started my whole vintage accessories.

My veil came free with my dress but I'm not sure I like it, so may be looking for another one, I want cheap with crystals. Smiley smile
