Vegas Brides

Boodles, 19 January, 2012 at 17:07 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi

Its my first post but I have read quite a few posts/threads and everyone seems really helpful so hopefully some of you can help me?

We want to get married in vegas and thoughts so far are to book a holiday (4 nights - is that long enough?) and then once we are there book a chapel to marry in and book a restaurant for after.

Has anyone got any expereince of marrying in vegas, what was it like?

Any you recommendations for a restaurant for the evening?

Did you book through a tour operator and what hotels would you suggest?

I guess the questions can go on and on but its a starting point at least.

Looking forward to hearing from some vegas brides past & future.xx

We stayed at the Wynn last summer and it was amazing. We were there for 5 nights before heading off on a road trip to San Fran. I would say 4 nights would make things a bit rushed. If you are looking or somewhere to eat post wedding try the SW or country club at the Wynn. The food was amazing. Or there is a place that looks over the fountains at the Bilagio which wa also very nice. Good luck with your planning and welcome to Hitched - its v addictive x

    Hi,

Just wanted to say hello and welcome! I didnt get married in Vegas so cant help there at all but I have been! lol

With the travelling, time difference and jet lag I would say you need to stay for longer than 4 days, we stayed for 7. We had a meal in 'Paris' that was lovely but all of the hotels are lovely. Youre bound to have a good meal wherever you go.

Hello! I'm getting married in Vegas in April!

First off with the 4 nights, my advice would be that you might feel too rushed. With the jet lag it can take a day or two to adjust and if you are getting married you may have some errands to do such as go to the marriage bureau for your license, have a wedding reharsal, salon appointments etc, it could eat into your holiday ]time. There is so much to see and do! We've gone for a week when we've been before. We will be there around 8 days this time then we are planning to set off on a West Coast tour for our honeymoon before ending up back in Vegas for another 1 or 2 nights before flying home...we just love it there!

We've booked to marry at the bellagio on the terrace followed by a meal at Mon Ami Gabi which is a French Steakhouse at Paris which overlooks the bellagio fountains and the food is great! We've also had a really nice meal at the top of the Stratesphere which was our second choice for the wedding reception but in the end we went for Mon Ami as it is our favourite and also meant we didn't need to book any transport to ferry people around. All the hotels have lots of restaurants, for example bellagio's look out over the fountains it depends on your budget per person.

We booked our wedding and accomodation direct with bellagio and the flights direct with Virgin Atlantic.

I've only stayed at bellagio when we've gone so our opinion is a bit biased!! ? It is fab though - a bit of a classic. The Wynn and Venetian look amazing and there's lots of new fancy ones like Vdara and Cosmopolitan. There's also hotels like Flamingo, Excalibur, Luxor that might be good for people on a budget.

It all depends on location, and how near it is to where you want to marry/have your meal eg, will you need transport or take more taxis? Just things to consider for your wedding budget.

If you need any more help just shout! ?

Have never married in Vegas but go at least twice a year. Agree about the 4 days for marriage licence etc. I would say 7 minimum to be fair, it's a very long journey and I find the jet lag awful. Bellagio would be a wonderful place to stay and get married. I regularly stay in the MGM and love it. They are also remodelling the rooms right now and pictures of the new rooms look amazing. Hubby is going in May for the boxing so will have a better idea about the new rooms then!MGM will be cheaper also. Mon Ami Gabi would be a fab choice for food, it's a firm favourite with just marrieds! The restaurant at the top of the eiffle tower in Paris is supposed to be great also. My brother and his g/f ate there and said it was great and very romantic and you can see the bellagio fountains from there.

    Hiya,

My brother is getting married in Vegas this year. As far as I'm aware they have booked there wedding through MGM Grand at a reasonable price (I'm not all clued up on it as I'm not going - very long story).

My other piece of advice is just for weddings abroad are your closest family/friends able to make it. I'm a teacher and my brother is getting married in term time hence why I cannot go and this has caused no end of problems ......

    Hope it works out!
