I'm having wild mushroom mille feuille - I love mushrooms but thought things like stroganoff or risotto might be a bit heavy and also can't really be presented that nicely, so have asked our chef to do this as I've had in several restaurants - yummy but also good-looking!

We only had one vegetarian at our wedding and so consequently let her decide! She chose risotto I think.

We're having a vegetable carbonara. The other options didnt sound like much and I though the pasta would fill the guests up more. (To be honest I quite fancy it myself!!) it comes with courgette, mushrooms and baby sweetcorn in a garlic sauce. Nom!!!

We don't have any vegetarians coming but if we did our options are: thai veg curry or wild mushroom & spinach ravioli. Both of which sound pretty nice!

Our whole wedding buffet (day and evening) was vegetarian (plus some fish) . It was wonderful!

Brie and cranberry parcels, veggie samosas, tiny veggie tartlets, lovely variety of salads...

Please don't decide to only offer things made of veggies. While veg is lovely, we do get rather sick of them especially soggy vegetable lasagne etc! I'd suggest anything that the meat eaters would be eating, only with a meat substitute instead of the meat, You could use quorn, tofu, tempeh etc. The risotto and ravioli also sound lovely.

As far as I know, we only have one vegetarian guest, who also happens to be one of my best friends and BMs. So my plan was to ask her what she wants. I'll show her the veggie options and see what she fancies. She'll be very special as she will be the only one choosing what she gets to eat! ?

    I love veggies mostly

for me I get sick of peppers... I must of missed the veggie meeting where we unanimously agreed all veggie food has to have peppers in - I hate the god damn things ☹️

where as I like quorn its much more hit and missy (example: dont like red meat or red meat substitutes many of my veggie friends are the same) and tofu dosent sit right (its a really bizarre food)

Yes that is something to consider. Personally I have no problem with anything that tastes or feels like meat, but I know others do.

I haven't finalised our vegetarian option yet but when I first bought it up with my venue they suggested nut roast. I'm not sure if that sounds a bit boring though!

Again nut roast is something we always get saddled with. Could you perhaps ask your veggie guests for their top pick? That way you could decide on a couple of options x

Vegetable carbonara sounds amazing!! I'd be tempted to go with the veggie option if that's what we got haha. Shall have to speak to the venue about that one...

i really wanted to steer clear of any stuffed pepper, vegetable lasagne, nut roast kind of dishes - quite often I choose the veg option at functions as I'm not a big red meat eater and even I hate getting stuff like that, so I can't imagine how disappointing it is to always be offered hum drum dishes like that constantly

What of the veggies who don't actually like the taste or texture of meat? Surely safer to go with the veg option, and cover both the philosophical AND the preference veggies?

Or who, like me, can't stomach Quorn/tofu/TVP? Tempeh would see me chucking up within ten minutes Smiley smile

We had Provencale veg on a pea and bean fricasee, with rosemary socca and soured cream.
