Vegetarian options at receptions

RLB, 9 February, 2014 at 20:59 Posted on Planning 0 2

I've just had my tasting for my reception, and my fiancé and I liked the vegetable, cranberry and goats cheese nut roast for the vegetarian option. We only tried the one option for vegetarian, as we are both meat eaters and were only tasting 4 options altogether (we get 2 meat options and 1 vegetarian). We both really liked this choice, and it wasn't a very nut roast type nut roast (more a vegetable roast if that makes sense).

However, my sister keeps telling me that when she was vegetarian, she hated that nut roast was always the vegetarian option, and suggests that I ask some of the veggies that are coming about the choice. The problem I have with doing this is that if I ask guests their opinions but choose against what they suggest, they will know I made that choice (and most of the vegetarian guests are my cousins so would talk to each other).

So, any vegetarians here, would you be disappointed with vegetable, cranberry and goats cheese nut roast? The alternatives are traditional nut roast, vegetable and cheese bake or vegetable gratin - would those sound more tempting?

It sounds lovely. Personally I'm always just happy that there is a vegetarian option that isn't salad! As long as no one has a nut allergy I'm sure you'll be fine. Besides it's a free dinner!

Also we are only offering one veggie option and I chose the one that I wanted to eat, I didn't consider if it would be popular or not ?.
