Veil or No Veil - That is the question

GemmieH, 24 April, 2012 at 12:21 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi Everyone,

I am having huge dilemas over the above question.

I have ordered my dress and have my first fitting on 30th May. I have been told if I want a veil I can get one from the shop in a two week turn around so I still have a while to decide as I am getting married on 22nd July this year.

My dress is 2058 Benjamin Robert - still cannot remember how to flash but I have managed to upload it before for a past post. (me and technology eh!)

The issue I have is that because my dress is primarily lace I would want to have a veil with a bit of a lace trim, which makes it awkward to get one of ebay etc to see if the lace style's match. I have tried one on in the shop that i have fallen head over heels in love with but it is £110 and although this may not be that much to some I don't know if I can justify spending that much on a veil that I will only wear for a couple of hours.

Is it wrong not to have a veil?

Any advice would be appreciated as I am freaking out over silly issues at the moment.

    Is this your dress?

I'm in same dilemma as my dress is lace but I am planning on having a very plain veil - I don;t want it to take any focus away from the detail of my dress Smiley smile

I do think that a veil would look lovely with your dress.

My dress is also lace and has little crystals/beads sewn into it. I got a veil that is mainly plain but has matching crystal/bead trim on it.

Your dress is beautiful!! Would you not get a plain veil? I know it's not excatly what you wanted but you can find some lovely ones and money wise it'll be cheaper and easier to buy a cheaper one online.

    Thanks everyone.

I did think about getting a plain one but when I tried it on with the dress it didn' look quite right.

I have a pic of me with two different types and the plain just looks a bit like a net curtain. I would flash them but can't remember how and I don't think I can get away with blurring my face out (I am pulling some odd faces in them!)
