Veil Recommendations

porkchop, 14 March, 2012 at 18:40 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hello ladies, have been lurking for a while and thought I would take the plunge and ask for some advice!

I want to get a veil, but havent seen any I like in the shops, and they are pretty expensive in the bridal shops for what they are.

Has anyone used this website http://www.theweddingveilshop.co.uk ??

You can custom design the number of tiers, length, crystal etc but I'm a bit wary of using a website. Any advice please?

Is there nobody out there that could offer some advice about buying a veil online? ☹️ I'd be really grateful!

I can recommend Dornellie Veil - she makes gorgeous headpieces and veils - you can buy online or have a consultation over the phone with her. www.dornellie.com

Thank you that's great to know. The one I want is coming up at £39 custom made, the closest one I saw in a shop was over £100! Feel more confident about ordering from that site now, I'm excited! and this is coming from the girl that didnt want a veil! ?

Also if you plan on selling you veil afterwards, I think I will, hang onto the sample of veil fabric they send you so you can send it to potential buyers.

Thats what put me off buying a second hand one, the fact to cant check if the colour matches first.

This a (bad) pic of mine. I'm wearing higher on my head than this for the wedding, but just to show you how lovely is is ;-)

What length is that one? And how many layers? sorry fo all the questions! I'm going to wear mine about where that is, as I dont want it sticking out the side of my head! Was going to go for just a single layer, and waist length I think. So many options!

This is fingertip length, and two tiers (layers). It's a full gather option. If you are having just one tier, you don't select a gather option (centre or full) as it can only be a full gather along one end of the comb.

If you need gathers explaining, I'll do me best just let me know!

Thanks, I think I'm going to stick to one layer as personally i dont want too much material, I think thats why when I tried them on in the shop I wasnt keen as they were all two tiered and 'big' but my mum went all mushy about a veil, hence the research and excitement about a sinlge layer one!! Was looking at all the gathering stuff on the site and didnt understand it even with the pictures so Luckily I dont need to worry! Thanks for your help.
