Veil suggestions

Wifeytobe88, 4 October, 2013 at 11:10 Posted on Planning 0 7

Morning all,

I'm going to look at veils next Saturday in the same shop I bought my dress - I won't be buying my veil in that shop as it's so expensive, but I'm going to get an idea (and hopefully some pics) of the style I want, and ask Margaret Pink (is that her name?) to make it. I won't be able to try my dress on with the veil next week, although when I tried the dress on originally, the lady in the shop put a veil on me as well, and I loved it! This is my dress (the sleeves can be worn on or off) - any suggestions on what type of veil would suit?

I would say a shorter fine textured veil with a bit of sparkle in it. Lovely dress Smiley smile

Yep, agree with Helybel - a short veil with maybe a thin ribbon/satin edging.

I agree. Definitely short, to cover your face fully (but no more) and then sit back over your hair nicely and frame your face without draping down too far and impacting on the neckline/shape.

I had my veil made by Pink Margaret and it's beautiful. I couldn't be more pleased with it. Highly recommended.

It's about bum length (lol sorry can't remember the "official" name for that length) and has diamante dotted through it here and there in a very tasteful way.

The veil I tried on in the shop was the best part of £100 - my veil from PM was about £35 I think. I'm so glad I saw the recommendation for her on here.

Also - personally I think the veil length I've got would look lovely with your dress but it's all personal preference really. I worked on the basis that my dress is quite simple from the back so I went with a longer veil to add a bit of interest. If there was more detail to the back then I may have opted for a shorter veil to show it off a bit more.

Hi Blondie was your veil two tier? I asked Pink Margaret for a quote for something similar to Joyce Jackson Cuba veil (the pics online are rubbish, don't show the detail at all, but there's delicate pearl trim along the edge and a pear comb to hold it in place). It's a two tier, length I think 24 inch / 30 inch (it was bum length when I tried it on!). But she's quote £93 for it which is way more than I was hoping tbh ☹️ The Joyca Jackson one is only £110!

See, I'd go for fingertip length as I think it would sit best with the fit of your dress. If you want detail on it then I'd go for something subtle, the dress is really classy so you don't want to detract from it.

    Hi,

As your dress is quite classic you could go for any veil with any styling as there is nothing that it could clash with. I think something very delicate would be lovely
