Venue Advice - Derbyshire / Leicestershire areas?

mel_wing, 3 March, 2011 at 13:09 Posted on Planning 0 3

Wedding date hoped for - ****.

Im still looking for a venue that our budget can cover.

Daytime 60-80 people

Evening 120 people

Outdoors as much as possible / pub, hotel, holiday home? / flexible on food options

Our budget is very tight. Under 2000 for venue and hopefully food is what were aiming for.

We're trying to find somewhere that doesnt cost an arm and a leg just to get outdoor space.

What we really want is outdoors in a park but with a back up plan for bad weather

We have looked at many packages but they are all 5000 +, we looked at doing a marquee ourselves but it was still coming in around the same price.

Concidering a holiday cottage that we can rent for the week that has grounds we can use for a reception in good weather but that we can retreat indoors if weather turns bad. Has anyone ever done this?

Anyone who has got married recently or booked a venue in derbyshire or leicestershire please help?

I second that as that's where I'm getting married! They do either sit down meals or a hog roast or bbq option. We're having about 80 people and we're on a tight budget too and it hasn't worked out expensive.

I've emailed them for more info, theres not much information on their website.

We've made an appointment at Horsley Lodge to see the venue and talk budgets- They seems to be willing to negotiate around our budget by having cheaper food.

Has anyone got married here and have any comments on it?

    Thanks all x

Hi, We're getting married at donington park farmhouse in 2 months time. It's cost us about £1000 for room hire but we've had 3 rooms for that then it's cost about £30pp for 3 course meal and £15 for drinks. They do offer cheaper alternatives tho like only having 2 courses, hog roast, BBQ etc which could come in your budget X
