Venue Deco

zebralea, 24 November, 2012 at 11:31 Posted on Planning 0 4

Im getting married next winter at The Priest House, I know this might be a bit soon to start thinking about how to decorate the place, but next year is going to be crazy for me travelling and work so trying to put down as many plans now as this is the end of work season for me til Jan.

Have my dress, which has little sparkles on it, can't remember designer or design (bad bride!)

Am thinking purple or dark blue for bridesmaid

OH and myself are motorsport photographers, so before our wedding breakfast we are having a drinks reception while photographs are being taken, we also have the idea of have shortcake to nibble on... which will be in the shape of cars. Our families haven't met each other so want something to get people talking. OH hasn't even met my parents... meant to be happening this winter though!

The venue has lovely beams which i will be wrapping white lights in, also we are planning a to have one long table so get people chatting to each other...

Whatever colour i go with for bridesmaid, it will done with a silver... want the feeling of being christmassy but not staring the guests in there face...

Want my name places to double as the favours, if even its by a ribbon with a little tag..

Would like the day to be simple, understated but lovely.

Have been thinking of hanging wicker hearts, candles, lanterns... The hotel is old style with all the beams etc, we like this old fashion style as we live in a 19thC house, so we like roaring open fires and that sort of thing....

Any Ideas would be helpful, many thanks Lea xx

I'd be searching for cheap baubles in the sales. You can write people's names on them as place settings.

Have looked at past weddings at the priest house, like some of the styles but am trying to tie in our passion of Motorsports to the wedding as well but not too OTT

Sorry for any typos am on smart phone & it doesn't see to like the forum... If hitched could do an app that would be ace!

I've been to two weddings at the Priest House and both were lovely.

Both just had lots of flowers I think but then they were both Summer weddings.

Neither put fairy lights on the beams but I think this would look lovely - I would definitely do that.

Check out this site /collections/on-the-table. You will fall in love with everything.

Is the venue OK with you hanging things? Some don't like it but it looks amazing if they do.
