Venue Decoration!! HELP

Ola, 22 January, 2013 at 19:42 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hi All,

This is going to sound sooo stupid but for days now I find myself asking who does the wedding venue decoration.

I think the caterers will only deal with the food, cutleries, napkins etc right?

Am assuming the florist will only do the bouquet, bottonholes and corsages? Do they also deal with the table decorations or is that someone else?

Who deals with table clothes, chair decorations?

Who deals with lighting, drapping etc? AM just sooo confused im goin mad. Or simply is there 1 person that does all of these things. I dnt want a wedding planner as I am good at that myself..surely it cant be 1 person dealing with catering, table decos, lightnin, drapings etc...I dont want to pay multiple ppl silly amounts of money as i can do the table deco my self...But clearly not draping as i want lights in d drapes..

I have a headache now...any help is much appreciated...

Where are you getting married? Do they have an events/wedding coordinator?

Do you have access to the room the day before the wedding to do it yourself?

Depending on how much you need doing and how complex the instructions are, the venue may take care of it.

Otherwise you may need to hire a venue dresser or dispatch some ushers first thing on the morning of the wedding.

Only way to find out is to talk to the venue. It's a lovely venue, btw.

    Thank you.

I just read the brochure again and my love for it has gone down from a 10 to a 7.

It can only take 100 people which i loved but i just found out its over 2 flooors!!!!?

Maybe kids can be on 1 floor when the party starts...i really dont know now...I have friends telling me 100ppl is way too small and now to know this is split on 2 floors is not so great....

    oooooh...☹️

Have you been to look at the venue?

I must say- 2 floors would certainly put me off.

It's really worth considering. They meet up before and ask you exactly how you want things. If there's certain things for certain tables then she asked me to label the boxes 'Table 1' etc. It was just a weight off my mind!
