Venue finder help

Hi All

I am in the very early days of planning my wedding for summer 2012, therefore its just ideas at the moment.

We want to look into hiring land for the weekend, like a farmers field or similiar, in hampshire/west sussex.

We want to then put a marquee on the land, but also let friends camp if they would like.

But also be close enough for the older/unbrave guests to travel to hotels.

Any ideas of land I can hire or websites I can use.

I am based in portsmouth.

Ooooh that sounds a fab idea, though i have to say a friend of mind kind of did the same thing at her dads farm, it was a brilliant day but there were a lot of things she had to consider things i would never of thought about like portaloos, and even a health and safety report for the registrar, it did all add up. Sorry i dont have any websites or anything just thought i would say what a fun idea

I can't help but just wanted to say welcome to Hitched! Sounds like an awesome idea. I'm hoping Ooh La La will be here soon to post as she has done quite a bit of research into having a marquee wedding on her mum's farm so might be able to give you some pointers.

There are quite a few Hampshire based Hitchers too who should be able to help! Might be useful to put Hampshire into the title of the thread?

Hello Kelstarr. I was just wondering whether you made any progress on this? We also like the idea of a wedding in a field - marrage at a registery office. I'm based in Guildford so you aren't too far from the area I am looking at. I'd love to know how you are getting on.
