Venue Help!

Hello,

This is my 1st post but love the messages on the forum so far....

My fiancé and I have recently started looking at venues in the South Essex area. Does anyone have any good recommendations for Essex wedding reception venues? We didn't want anything too formal, maybe a BBQ? Or a venue that gives you flexibility to choose what you want. It's so hard trying to find somewhere nice that doesn't cost a ridiculous amount!

Any advice from other brides or wedding guests would be appreciated...

Hello,

I live in Brentwood but am getting married in Berkshire. We did look at a few venues in Essex though.

Gaynes Park was lovely, but expensive - you use their approved caterers, but I think they can be quite flexible in what you have.

Crondon Park was better value for money and I believe they can be quite flexible on what they do food wise, although it is done all in house.

Friends of ours are having their reception at Ingatestone Hall - I'm not sure of prices but you basically hire the land, and then have to get a marquee, caterers etc yourself.
