Venue help! Pleeeeaaase!

Born2Shop, 21 May, 2012 at 17:10 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hello everyone! I am very new to this and this is my first post!

I am getting married in Essex, although it isn't where I am from, but it is now where I live with the OH. I am torn between a couple of venues and I wondered if anyone has any recent experience of them?

Vaulty Manor in Heybridge is one. Seemed lovely, friendly, very accommodating and seemed quite happy to let us have a free rein of the place- venue however was expensive, but caterers very reasonable and you can take your own wine for no corkage. However! I have read some really bad reviews about the place/accommodation and I don't know whether to heed them or not. It seemed perfect in every other way. I think we will put concerns to them, but it is disconcerting.

The other venue is Parklands, which I absolutely adore. It is perfect. Gorgeous rooms, fabulous setting and scenery and fantastic -looking accommodation. Real wow factor, but at a wow price! I doubt very much whether they will come down much from their quote as I know they charge those prices because they can.

Help!

I just want a lovely venue, with options to have our own stamp on things, and with plenty of accommodation. Anyone have any other venues they've seen? Xx

Thank you!

    Welcome to Hitched.

I too live in Essex but am not from there originally (am from Berkshire).

Friends of ours are having a church wedding and their reception at Ingatestone Hall. I think you can only have a small wedding in the house itself but there are various plots for marquees for you to put up and decorate how you like.

Have no idea of costs but it does look lovely
