Venue open day

happy&stressed, 15 September, 2009 at 14:19 Posted on Planning 0 3

Went to our venue last night they had a sort of open evening thingy, not quite a fayre its a bit more intimate. We did a bit of wine tasting...... ok a lot of wine tasting. We had another good look around and as it was night time they dimmed the lights a little in the suite where you have your meal which was perfect as when we get married by the time we sit down for the wedding breakfast it will be dark. It looked stunning and i'm sooo excited i cannot wait only got 15 weeks to go yay.

That's quite a good idea from your venue! It sounds like it'll have a really lovely atmosphere. I bet you're even more excited now hey!

It is they have a few suppliers in, just one of each and they dress the rooms like its a wedding day, you are free to wonder around the hotel and into the bridal suites etc and meet the weddings manager, bar manager etc and discuss things for your day. Its brilliant because you get to visulise how your day might look. Its a great opportunity for them to get bookings from perspective couples. Excitement isn't the word, can hardly keep still. Still got plenty to organise!!!

On a plus we have to have another meeting at the venue for meal tasting and yet more wine tasting.... hmmmm that could go on quite a while, can never make my min up... tee hee

It's so exciting to see your venue all dressed up isn't it? <fluffy moment> I will never forget first walking into ours and they were setting up for a wedding later that day, they had the lights all dimmed and the tables all set out beautifully, soft music in the background - it was just amazing, think my stomach actually flipped! (apologies, slush over!)

We went to an open day at ours the other week and it was sooo busy there that it didn't quite get that same effect so I'm looking forward to going back when it's quieter as I know it's so much more beautiful then.

15 weeks to go - no wonder you're excited! It will fly by!

I'm surposed to be working but am really 'fluffed up'!!! today. when we decided on the date we had 28 wks and believe me the last 13 weeks have just disappeared. Going to be really busy i think in last few weeks with organising wedding and christmas just the week before.

I might get over my fluffyness in a mo and concentrate on accounts!!!!!
