Venue search Warwick - Getting desperate!!!!

aliilou, 28 September, 2014 at 18:26 Posted on Planning 0 16

Please can somebody help me!!!

We got engaged at Christmas and are still looking for our venue. I'm getting so fed up with it all now and am in desperate need of some inspiration!

I'm looking for something rustic/vintage style that I can add lots of personal touches to. I've seen loads of hotels but realised they aren't really for me. We also saw a few lovely farmhouse/barn places but they were just so expensive!!

Please please please can somebody inspire me!!??! I'm desperate to get married and this is really getting me down...

Thanks!!!!!

There's a photographer called Jeff Land in that area. He's really well informed about the local venues. I'd give him a call!

We were in the same position as you wanted a rustic barn venue

Does it have to be warwickshire? We went with Avoncroft Museum in Bromsgrove they hire out a beautiful old barn for weddings

I was looking at that area, there was a lovely space for hire, Hatton Village hall:

In the end I decided on a hotel with a package deal, good luck with your search!

Brownsover Hall near Rugby is lovely. Or a friend of mine got married in the Lord Leycester hospital in Warwick which is a really nice old tudor style building.

I would always recommend Brownsover Hall as it's my venue and I'm hoping to be there on Sunday just so I can visit again ? But I wouldn't say it's rustic as such, have you looked at Ashton Lodge? I went to look there and it was my second choice but was a bit pricier than Brownsover.

Edited to add: Nettle Hill is also rustic looking although we didn't look round there so no idea what it's actually like or what the cost is.

We've chosen Wethele Manor just outside Leamington for our ceremony and reception and it's both rustic and contemporary so we loved it. Not sure if it's one of the places you've already seen but well worth a look as it might be right up your alley and close to Warwick too!

I got married at The Hunsbury Hill Centre in Northampton because it was the blank canvas you are after.

We live at the other end of the county (36 minute drive according to Google). The centre is only 47 minutes form the centre of Warwick according to google too. The money you would save compared to a 'full package' barn would more than offset a coach to transport everyone there and back.

Mustard; Wethele is lovely but about double the price for dry hire than we're paying for a full package so guessing it might be a bit out of OPs price range! ?

Wow you're right, Hunsbury Hill looks stunning! I'd LOVE having a blank canvas to decorate! The only issue I have is that we need to have a church wedding so we'd then have to ask everyone to travel for an hour after the ceremony!

Trying to get hold of the Lord Leycester to have a look but keep getting their answerphone! Going to try there and Hatton village hall as well as the open day at the weekend. Thanks for the help. I had no idea finding a venue would be anywhere near this stressful and time consuming!!!!! Feel like I'm the only one who is finding the process so frustrating!! I just want to enjoy it and get on with the fun stuff!!

Weatherly was one of the first venues we saw and we loved it straight away. We agonised over it but just couldn't justify the huge cost. I'm very jealous!!!

    Hi,

Have you looked into the local village halls? We have played at some vintage style weddings in various parts of the country. You can always add a dancefloor sized addition for band/DJ to give you extra space.

    Happy hunting!

    James

There is a gorgeous place called Talton Lodge with tipis and yurts and a firepit. They also have an old 300 year old crumbling house to hire too x

Wootton Park is rather nice, with a similar set-up (but cheaper) to Wethele Manor. There's Mallory Court too? Or Sherbourne House for DIY. Warwick House, Nettle Hill or Ardencote who also do good value packages. x

    Hiya,

Aside from what everyone else has mentioned, I looked into Nettle Hill and its old converted barns. Loved it so much that I booked my wedding there?.
