We were looking for something similar, somewhere that would accommodate guests that we could add our own touches to.

We did consider quite a few but wanted somewhere where we could get married too, so this ruled a lot out.

In then end we viewed....

Hargate hall - lovely venue and a great location. It offers self catering apartments so great for guests. A lovely venue, well worth a visit and you can really make it your own.

Hartlington hall - this is a youth hostel but not what you would imagine a hostel to be! Lots of accomodation and set in the heart of the peak district. It offers B&B accomodation for your guests and you get exclusive use of the venue.

Ilam hall - also a youth hostel. Fantastic setting with amazing views. Again offers B&B accomodation.

In the end we have gone for a venue in Shropshire, another youth hostel!

Hope this helps, it tools me weeks of Internet trailing to find the venue with a difference that we wanted. But it was worth it. Let's know how you get on ?

We've also been internet fiends trying to find somewhere we both like that's a bit different.

I'll definately look those ones up.

Going to book somewhere early next year so I'll let you know!

Might be a bit further than you wanted but we are getting married at Blackbrook House in Belper. No accommodation in the house itself but we have rented two cottages through the venue that arev5 mins away. We looked at loads of venues before we fell in love with brook.

We seem to b spending alot of time looking at venues.

We both agree what type of wedding we want but my OH doesn't what to spend loads of money and I have a lower than average budget in mind.

Not sure if we are being realistic or not!

I think venue shopping has taken up most of my wedding planning time so far. But you only do it once so it's got to be right.

We are the same re budget. Not sure what the average is but I have been trying to get everything all in for £5000. Not sure how that compares to yours but I've found that you can get what you want for your budget, it just takes longer and some negotiation lol.

Yeah we are pretty much 5k or there abouts.

I've got an idea on pretty much everything else so as soon as we have a venue it will all drop into place!

Not sure if it will be too far, but I've heard good things about the Peak Edge Hotel, might be worth a look ?

I'll think of where else as these are just a few of many looked up on internet..I need some help too!
