Hi everyone..

Recently engaged and looking at venues, planning to book for May 2012

    Hi,

we looked at Leez Priory as I had fallen in love with it on the internet but when we looked round I felt it wasnt worth the money as it is very expensive.

We are getting married at Prested Hall in Feering near Colchester which we love!

    Where abouts do you live?x

    Hi

We had our reception at De Rougemont Manor, Great Warley. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. We were so pleased with the place, service, food everything. They are fantastic and professional. Having recently been to a wedding elsewhere it really highlighted just how brilliant they were in comparison to somewhere else.

Definitely worth taking a look in my opinion.

    Hi ShellG,

I am not too far from you. There are quite a few nice places for weddings in the area. As you mentioned Friern Manor would be a lovely venue. Stockbrook Manor, The Old Rectory, Greenwoods Hotel in Stock, Marygreen Manor in Brentwood, Furze Hill in Margaretting, Ye Olde Plough Orsett, Orsett Hall and Crondon Park - All reasonably expensive venues I'm guessing. If you are looking at something not quite as expensive it may be worth having a look at Little Burstead Golf Club or The Ivory Rooms in Billericay. Another alternative is to a hire a marquee. I know a very good company based in Billericay. Hope this helps

    Hi,

Have you looked at Gaynes Park in Essex? It's about 20 miles from Laindon.

They have released their 2012 prices and are already taking bookings too. Their price includes tables and chairs for up to 150 guests, facilities for a Civil Wedding Ceremony in either the Orangery, The Gather Barn or The Mill Barn, complimentary overnight accommodation and breakfast for the Honeymoon Couple in the Apple Loft. You get to use the whole place and yours is the only wedding there.

We've opted for a midweek date as I simply could not let this venue go!

You can find out more by visiting their website - www.gaynespark.co.uk or take a look at their facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gaynes-Park/116100569448

The team there are AWESOME! I have felt at ease from the moment we turned up to be shown round by Liselle, the owner. I am really looking forward to tasting the food as well as meeting the other couples at the tasting to share ideas and find out how they're planning to decorate the barn and the orangery. The facebook page is great because Liselle puts photos up there almost daily so that we can all see what's been happening at the recent weddings and also how the venue looks in the different seasons. This helped us to choose a date in October as I look the autumn the best!

Am probably rambling way too much now but I simply love this venue and can't stop grinning about choosing it!

    Have fun with your planning!

    xx

I am an Orsett Hall bride and was the only venue we looked at. My dad loved it so we went with it. OH would have loved Gosfield Hall but was out of our price range. OH has been to a wedding at Leez Priory and although he had a lovely time he said the room for the reception and the dance floor was very small. Good luck with your search.
