Venues in the Berkshire area

filoftus, 26 August, 2011 at 08:06 Posted on Planning 0 22

Hi guys and girls

Can anyone help me?

I am looking for reasonable priced reception venues in the Berkshire area, looking at Ascot, Windsor, Sunninghill or Sunningdale area?

I would really appreciate it

I'm looking in Bucks at the moment - everywhere is so expensive!

Have you tried this? http://www.cheap-wedding-success.co.uk/cheap-wedding-venue.html There are some Berks venues on there.

    Good luck!

Ouch, not the cheapest part of the country! I'm just over the border in Woking so am familiar with the area! What kind of scale are you looking for? Have you tried looking on RBWM's gov website to look at their list of civil venues, will give you an idea of who and where are set up for weddings?

I got married last year at the Royal Berksire Hotelin Ascot

    /royal-berkshire

we had the ceremony and the wedding reception there. It's a beautiful hotel with amazing grounds so perfect for photos. The food is amazing there and the bar isn't that expensive either for the guests.

the bridal suit is also huge with it's own balcony over looking the grounds.

We ended up getting married in Surrey as Ascot (where we lived was so expensive and we didn't find that perfect venue) I do know someone who got married at the Berystede Hotel Ascot, or there is a De Vere Hotel on the road to Sunninghill.. ?

As Little Miss Stubborn said the Royal Berkshire is lovely.. What about some of the other golf clubs sometimes it is worth calling and seeing if they do weddings.. Ours was a golf club that did weddings but only approx 12 a year so we got great customer service..

I live on the Bucks/Berks border and have been looking at venues/country houses all over the 2 counties! Is Wokingham too far??? Easthampstead park conference centre, sounds odd but has a nice old country house attached. Depends what you're looking for and you're budget. I had a list of about 30 potentials which we whittled down to 5 and then booked Taplow House Hotel, just outside Maidenhead.

    Happy hunting.

    Thank you very much everyone

I have requested brochures for oakley house. Royal Berkshire House, Northcote, Englemere and a couple of golf courses, I am wanting (wanting and getting 2 different things lol) something with character and were having to stay sort of in this area as the other half is in the forces (its a LONG story) and at the moment he isnt in the country so I am having to do this all on my own and it is starting to get disheartening as venues are so expensive.

I will prob go and look at some venues but wont be the same looking at them on my own ☹️

I looked at EPH on the net and they work out expensive aswell and i have looked at schools and that works out expensive hiring everything ie bar tables and doing the food individually, it is right as soon as you say wedding the prices go sky rocket, and I live on the Wokingham, Warfield, Ascot Border and the other half is from Windsor?!

If he is in the forces what about one of the messes in his Barracks? I have a friend who got married in the Guild Hall (where Charles married Camilla) in Windsor and then in the officers mess a couple of weeks ago.. It was lovely and the booze was cheap!!!?

Don't get disheartened we have all been there.. I thought we would never find something after 2 months and almost giving up and eloping we found the perfect venue!!!

Yeah the word wedding send everything ridiculously through the roof!!! We are getting married on New Years Eve and that coupled with wedding doubles everything! Ive now resorted to saying '31st Dec' only hoping people dont realise! Might start calling it a party lol!

Are you looking for a venue with ceremony or just reception?

    When you getting married?

If the venue is lovely in reading we would most ikely look at it, We have just done the guest list and chosen the bridesmaids, bestman and ushers, the grooms and best mans outfit which is millitary, and looking at some venues tomorrow i am feeling a little less stressed after speaking to the other half and he has asked if we could have a winter wedding?!

I got married at Trunkwell House in Reading which I can highly recommend. There is a church next to it.

    Hi,

Do you think your other may qualify for the RMA (Royal Military Academy) in Sandhurst. I have done a few weddings there and it has some of the amazing grounds.

I played at Tudor Barn in Burnham on Friday - such a beautiful small venue, and very versatile. Recommended.

I live in Bracknell so we looked at places around that area, but like everyone else has said it's blooming expensive. How about Royal Holloway - it's gorgeous and has lots of character. Or Saville Gardens at the restaurant - they do wedding packages? Or The Windmill in Windlesham - it's my current favourite pub, maybe you could hire it for the day?

We considered all of those but have decided to go with a church wedding/village hall reception in Surrey.

    Good luck xx

We're getting married at Northcote House next year - which was our favourite venue. We also looked at the Royal Berkshire Hotel too, that was really nice.

I got married at Grovefield House Hotel in Burnham earlier this year and don't have a single negative thing to say. They had a fantastic package too whereby we got all the venue related items (food for our reception and buffet, room hire, our suite for the night etc) for £3000. The staff were all fantastic both in the run up and on the day itself.

I ended up doing our entire wedding for less than £7000, and I still have relatives that don't believe that we paid so little and got so much.

I photographed a wedding at the Runnymede On Thames hotel last month. The staff were friendly and it was a really nice modern and contemporary venue right on the river, which made for some stunning photos. I think that's in the area where you're looking.

Just to note, I'm not affiliated with them in any way.
