Very boring PSA - dishwasher tablets

Holly Bags, 30 January, 2009 at 19:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

This week, I changed brands from Tesco's own brand, and Finish Powerball. Finish Powerball was MUCH better, and shifted all types of baked on cack, and our glasses came out all sparkley too.

That is all.

I've tried cheaper brands in the past but they're never as good. I also like the Fairy ones.

I like the fairy ones the best as they disolve well as they aren't solid blocks of stuff.

Same here - just to say too steer well clear - if ever you may have been tempted! - of Tesco's Daisy brand.

Everything came out in pretty much as it went in. Pah. The very definition of a false economy, especially given our water meter.

That was what I'd used - it left dried snot on the things on the top rack. Eugh.

We tend to stock upon the finish dishwasher tablets whenever they are on offer at our local co op. We find them really good and even the basic powerball ones do an excellent job. Have tried the Fairy ones in the past but found that our glasses came out a bit cloudy so went back to Finish.

Holly Bags, I must be turning into an angry lady or something, but I was so incensed that they clearly didn't work that I was going to take them back and ask for a refund.

Still sorely tempted as they simply aren't up to the task. Thought it was just me being a bit optimistic for the dishwasher's capabilities, but clearly not!

<I'm going to stop ranting now...>

I've only ever used the finish powerball. The only time I've ever had any bother was when the little door didn't open to release the tablet.

Now I just throw the powerball in with the cutlery!

I wonder do people really take things like that back? I was behind a woman in Asda once, at Customer Services, and she was returning a lettuce. She got 11p back. It wasn't even an iceberg lettuce. It was a flat one, which she said had gone too flat.

Holly Bags - I don't know, but that's really funny!

It seems quite a sad thing to do on balance, but a few supermarkets have a refund-and-replace guarantee for their own brands. Tesco appears not to. I just think they should know that one of their products doesn't do what they say it does so other customers don't have their time and money wasted.

The only other time I've been tempted to take something back was a few years ago. It was Asda's own-brand fly spray, which didn't kill a single fly. (It was a birthday present for my husband ??)

I agree. We tried Wilko's own brand once and thought the dishwasher had broken, they were that cack!
I don't go for the all singing, all dancing finish ones though, the cheapest work just as well.
Holly bags, I will be at customer services in Asda next week with my bag of salad "with peashoots, parsley and coriander" which had just the single solitary pea shoot in it-that's the only reason I bloody bought them! ?

I agree, nothing else comes close to Finish Powerball. Netto have them on special offer at the minute, 32 for just over £2.50 (can't remember the actual price) but they have 50% extra free too so you get 48 tablets.
