Videographer cost

Little Madam, 18 August, 2010 at 10:56 Posted on Planning 0 8

Is anyone willing to share the cost of their videographer?

I decided I didn't want a videographer but i've now realised we are coming in under our budget and that i'd quiet like a professional to do this (H2Bs dad was going to do it).

I would want the ceremony, first dance and speeches. So they would need to be there from 3pm - 8pm.

Thanks

    Hi Kayl,

Wedding videography costs vary quite dramatically. If you are looking for an affordable, but still high quality option, then we have packages which are very reasonable as we are quite a young company and still growing our portfolio. For £549 we can cover your wedding right from the Guests Arrival, up until the First Dance. Our website is below if you would like to take a look.

Hope you don't mind me responding to your post!

Thanks Jamie, thats helpful and is the kind of price we were looking to pay.

Unfortunately I don't think you cover our area (from looking at your website).

    Thanks again

We do sometimes do weddings outside of our usual area, but we would have to charge a bit extra for travel costs.

Feel free to send me an email if you would like a quote.

    Hi Kayl,

If you are getting married near Sutton Coldfield, then I will not charge travel costs (as I can stay with my sister and great excuse to see nephews and neices) and you being a 'Hitcher' I may be able to help but depending when your wedding day is?

    Please check out my website.

    Regards,

    Bob

One thing I would say - and this is in no way meant to cast aspersions on either of the HiBs who've posted here - is make sure the price you get quoted is what you pay. My VoG did a 499 offer - but then there were a lot of extra charges and also VAT (which was the one that really shocked me - outside of B2B I didn't think anyone quoted net of VAT). We've ended up paying closer to £900. There's been a lot of issues with people here and VoGs lately so if I were you I'd really try and get a personal reccomendation from someone, or you know go for one of the HiBs as at least you know they won't screw you over!

I agree with you as I have heard about and come across some who advertise minimal prices and then you are expected to pay if you want certain things, which should be included in the price.

As for VAT, by law, if they are selling to general public, they must include the final price (inclusive of VAT). Saying that, even if they sell to commercial customers, they must give both prices!

When suppliers carry on this sort of practice, I would question whether I would want to deal with them, anyway?

Hi there, Yes same company- decided to give the company a bit of a facelift! Friends kept telling me that Fly-on-the-Wall was a bit naff, so we've now changed to One Take Media. Hope you still keep us saved as a favourite and hopefully you can afford a video nearer the time (if it helps, we would only ask for £75 before the actual wedding)

And in response to the the thread- I think it's pretty appalling that a quote of £499 can somehow be hiked up to £900. I make sure with all our packages that there are no hidden costs Smiley smile

(with the exception of extra DVD's!)

It wasn't the quote tbf, sorry if it looked like that from what I wrote, that was just the basic package that they offered, but I had various other bits that came in on top - and obviously on a big quote the VAT comes high Smiley sad
