Videographers in Brum needed to solve a new family dilemma!

Hello guys, how are we all on this fine day?

OH found out yesterday that his sister and brother in law have got themselves jobs in Australia! They are applying for a visa each and will then be moving to OZ with their 2 sons. The visas should come through at the start of September, so seems that the family will not be attending our wedding. OH is really upset, and actually quite angry at his sister for not explaining to the new employer that they cant go until after the wedding.

Personally, I think that it is an amazing opportunity, and can see that the employer already has to wait 3 months for the visa so might not be prepared to wait another few weeks for them so that they can be at our wedding. I suppose I dont have the strong family connection to them that he has, but I think that even if it was my sis I would be extremely excited for them, and understand that coming back for our wedding might be a bit awkward and expensive.

We are off to his mums for a BBQ today, and the whole family will be there so I hope OH doesnt put the guilt trip on his sister. I would hate to think that they would turn down or ruin their chances of something like this just to spend a day with us (granted, its a fairly special day!).

Anyway, I am being proactive and thought I would ask for recommendations for videographers. We really didnt want one but now I am thinking of one for at least the ceremony and speeches so that we can send a DVD to his sister if they do have to miss the day. So any recommendations in the W Mids area please?

I was watching wedding sos the other day and they set up a webcam as a suprise for the groom so he cld see his family in India, is something like that an idea? Its probably a little more budget friendly then a videographer and they'll almost be there in a way, obviously depending on where your getting married and WIFI access.

Hi Sid, we're right between the West and East Mids. It's a shame they have to leave before your wedding. We are covering a wedding next month where the brides family can't make it to the ceremony and they too will be sending a copy of their wedding DVD over to them. We may also have a live link to the family via webcam (for just the ceremony) - which should be being arranged by the venue. I would of course rather be recommended by someone than post this myself ?! If you need any help etc I'm here. Txx

    Hi!

I think you are being very gracious and many more of us should take heed. You are thinking in a very unselfish way and it's nice to see. It's also refreshing to hear of a Groom who gets upset about stuff like this, most of them are not as bothered as we girls are, mine definitely isn't, he says for those who don't come it's their loss.

In terms of a videographer, I'd gladly recommend the one we are going to use - Exact Image Ltd. They can cover areas outside Yorkshire and we thought their prices were very reasonable for the quality of the films I have seen and they have everything covered such as sorting out music copyright etc. They edit professionally in HD, they film with up to 4 broadcast quality cameras. Packages start at £795 for 2010 weddings and £850 for 2011.
