Vintage jewellery

sara252, 19 January, 2009 at 21:39 Posted on Planning 0 7

I've just bought one of my bridesmaids a lovely vintage brooche as a thank you present and I'd like to get something similar for my CBM (brooche, necklace, bracelet).

I have googled 'vintage jewellery' but I haven't found anything quite right in my price range (up to say £50). Thought someone might have a suggestion of a good website. I know there are some people on here who are really into their vintage stuff, so please help, I've got less than 6 weeks to go now!

Best one that immediately springs to mind is flo & percy, though unsure if they do brooches? they do some fab stuff though. they did purrfectgem's tiara, which is gorge.

if i think of any more i will post them. ebay is always worth a look?

I bought my hair comb that has a vintage look from Shefaly and they are really good. You should be able to google Shefaly jewellery and it should come up. There is also another site called glitzy secrets which may be good for you.

Oh that's me me me! I'm a tiara and jewellery hib but decided I wanted a vintage tiara and asked Kirsty from Flo and Percy if she could help me out. She designed me the most gorgeous tiara and I'll just need to flash a pic .

You'll find jewellery from their ready to wear collection on this page http://www.floandpercy.com/15-wedding-and-prom-jewellery so your timescales aren't a problem if you liked something from this collection.

Glitzy secrets has some good stuff but also cheap stuff. I dont think it's ideal to be honest, some of it is quite tacky. I would seriously consider ebay if you are willing to spend as much as you said, or any antique shops near by?? I've bought some beautiful vintage pieces off ebay for my wedding jewellery at very reasonable prices.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for the suggestions. Think I'll be spending another evening online look at pretty things! ?

Not sure if we have a local antiques shop, but I'll have a good look.
