Vintage photographers?

Hi Missmonkey,

I don't think that these are 'vintage' style photographers per se, it's just that they have shot vintage themed weddings ?Photographers have started using the term 'vintage' because they think that is the fashion of the moment & it gives them a usp - it doesn't necessarily make them better photographers than those who don't use that term.

From the 2 examples given, I think what you seem to be after is a relaxed documentary photographer who will also do set up romantic shots (which gives you a much larger field to choose from), I'd also be wary of the photo effects that are in vogue at the moment, in a few years time they are going to look really dated, look for great photographic images presented well & you won't go far wrong.

As Andrew says, I wouldn't say there's a vintage styled photographer, moreover, a photographer who captures your style and small details of the day, be they vintage or otherwise, or a photographer who just gets a lot of vintage work.

We really can't say what will be in vogue in 5 years time so make sure you have the original colour images as well as any special edits.

The majority of the time those who attend your wedding and the detailing throughout dictates the look much more than the photographer will. Plus who you are as a couple also, if you are fun, funky and suggestive to ideas it'll show.

I really like https://www.indiahobsonweddings.co.uk/info.html she has a really romantic feel to her photographs. We had Jon@s6photography for ours, he was amazing and we love looking at our photos! x

Thanks guys, the comments and ideas are really helpful. I think 'vintage' is the wrong word. I guess I like the storyboarding and style/quality of the photos more, but the style is very 'on trend' and might not date very well. I'll investigate some more, thanks again guys
