vouchers..

WickyWack, 9 February, 2014 at 22:42 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

I have an Argos voucher with £49.99 on it and a Dorothy Perkins one with £44 on it, I've been looking for a few weeks now and there isn't anything I need or fancy from either shop... anyone have any ideas with what I could do, don't really want these to go to waste!? Thanks ?

Check because I might have made it up but I think you can use DP vouchers in other places like Top Shop and Miss Selfridge too as they are part of the same group/owner.

Check the expiry on them, the average is 2 years as Bonnie says. I'd hold on to them and it will be a nice wee bonus to be able to use them in the future when you see something you need/want.

If they are going to expire soon, I'd buy something, then return it to have the value put back onto a new card, re-setting the time limit.

This always totally confuses me, when you see vouchers on sale for only a couple of pound less than their value. Great for the seller obviously but I'd so not bother buying one if that's all I'd save!

There are voucher swap websites - you say what you have and what you would like instead. Then someone will make you an offer to swap with their vouchers.

I've never actually used one of these sites though so I'm not sure how safe they are (my guess is it's protected but you'd have to read the small print)

I find it bizarre too ATB but if people are daft enough to almost pay cash value and you really don't want the voucher it's win win Smiley smile

If you really don't want them swap them for 5 £10 argos vouchers and give them as gifts for birthdays the same for dotty ps. I know much to my shame I got a £20 boots voucher bought two £10 vouchers with them. (Hangs my head with shame).

I'll swap you my Monsoon £20 in exchange for the DP one if you like ?

You could just keep them til something catches your eye, or have them swapped into smaller amounts and give as gifts?
