walking down the aisle....how??

Pearly81, 20 August, 2008 at 08:56 Posted on Planning 0 5

Okay -getting married saturday and having last minute flaps about things !

We havent had a rehearsal, and just wanted how you all walked/will walk down the aisle -sounds silly I know, but normally?? Or step together and all that?

My bridesmaids are going first, hoping they wont go too fast and will set the pace.

We're having a rehersal walk the night before at the venue! Will you have time to fit it in? Try walking up and down your living room to the music - I'm hoping that the pace will come naturally!

I think i walked normal but just a bit slow really. It is all a bit of a blur really. I was just focused on H2b at the end of the aisle.

If you have the music you are walking down the aisle to, try practising. Just make sure you dont walk too fast. People are going to want to look at your dress and for your self you dont want to rush down there, you want to enjoy the moment!

Try to find a beat in the music so that you have something to concentrate on when walking down the aisle (if you are anything like me then you might need it so that you dont freak out!) and so that you do walk at a steady pace.

Im having the traditional wedding march -played by a harpist. Not sure there will be much of a 'beat' as such.

Thanks everyone though, ill have to make sure my dad knows to walk slowly!

God I am so nervous about the walking down the aisle part !!

    Argh !x

Thats the bit I'm most nervous about too! That and trying to say 'sincerely and solomly...' My mum is walking down the aisle with me and she walks like a bat out of hell! I'm hoping having my 10 yr old BM in front will help - she dawdles most places so hopefully this don't be the exception! The aisle in our venue is really short so I'm worried about ending up at the front standing around waiting for the music to stop...

I think most people just walk slowly...smiling!

    Rather than step together style.
