Hi ladies,
If you are looking for a hair/make-up person for your big day, take my advice and avoid Bare Faced Cheeks like the plague.
I found out about BFC on the internet, heard good things about them, impressed with their website, decent prices. Emailed the lady to enquire some more and then decided to book a trial for which she wanted £65 upfront. I duly paid this, and set my trial date for the 8th May. The week leading up to the 8th, I decided to drop her an email as I hadn't heard anything from her, but received no reply. Went on the website (www.barefacedcheeks.co.uk) to get the phone number to find the site had been suspended. Eventually found a phone number from another site's link, but it went straight to answer phone, so left several messages for her to call me. The 8th May came and went, having stayed in all day, and she never showed, never made contact. I went to her home address (or at least the address on the booking form) - no reply, so left a message for her to call. My last resort was to find her on facebook - she accepted my friend request (so she can't have fallen off the face of the earth!!). All her posts suggest that she was in the country and running BFC as usual, but had just completely ignored me. I private-messaged her via facebook which she didn't reply to, so I left a message on her wall to ask her to check her messages. This morning, I find that she has de-friended me.
To say I am disgusted with BFC's lack of courtesy and professionalism is an understatement. As you ladies all know, every penny counts when it comes to wedding planning, and not only am I £65 down, but I have also had to have a last-minute panic ringing around lots of other companies trying to find a replacement (I found beautycall.co.uk who are brilliant).
I know this may sound like a bit of a whinge on my part, but I thought that I couldn't live with myself if other ladies were signing up to BFC only to find that they can't get their act together and even have the decency to apologise for what may have been an honest mistake and pay me back the money I am owed.
