Water jugs for table

MrsEdisToBe, 23 July, 2015 at 21:58 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi all.

i had in my mind that I would tie ribbon around the water jugs to give it a bit of colour. Have tried it tonight and not sure if this ribbon works. Do you think it needs to be thicker ribbon or is it a bit unnecessary?

Sorry, I don't think it works. You could leave it blank or just paint a heart or other pattern on the glass.

Those jugs are lovely (tee hee). Actually they are more of a carafe, I think. Where are they from?

I like the ribbon. The one you have used looks good to me. Maybe it would look slightly better with a thicker ribbon. Not more than double that thickness though. Depends if you can be bothered to source it though!

Sorry but I don't think it works either. They are actually more of a water carafe than a jug and the ribbon is positioned at the place where everyone's hand will be. I think the ribbon will get in the way and make the carafe harder to hold or it will come undone. Plain glass is elegant in it's own right so I personally would leave them as they are.

Thanks for the advice ladies, I think I will leave it off. If I see some thicker more ribbon on my travels I might try again but with 6 weeks to go it's one less thing to do!!!! The jugs were from IKEA earlier this year, they were only £1 each! X
