We are going Crazy trying to find a wedding reception venue in Manchester - wierd but true!

Okay.

We have about 106 guests. We wanted to keep it simple and informal as neither of us are lovers of Formal Celebrations. Initially we looked at village halls etc, but none were big enough or we couldn't have alcohol. So we thought again, our requirements are ...

Room hire from 4pm onwards
Food and drink x 106
Room for a band and for 106 people to sit down at once.
Cost, including room hire, DJ, food, 1 x drink, linen hire and chair covers (if needed) = £2550

A country pub could work if big enough. We also have yet to decide on a theme, we have come up with Vaudeville, Woodland, Tropical, Vegas and Arabian. This depends on the venue.

Because of the numbers we are being forced into Venues that are more formal and won't budge on packages, and obviously cost more.

Anyone got any ideas?

I've seen some interesting weddings on internet searches where people have got married in museums in Manchester or empty warehouses.

Also try looking at Salford and Manchester and other council websites for council owned buildings they rent out.

What about the Lowry theatre? I went to a wedding reception there about 18 months ago and it was absolutely stunning, the room held about 120 people comfortably and had amazing views of the quays at night lit up by the bridge. From what I can gather the room hire isn't as extortionate as some places I have been looking at, I was considering getting married there as it's a sentimental place for me (we had our first kiss there then he took me back there to propose) but unfortunately as we are having such a small wedding it just wouldn't work for us.

Type buile hill park in google, it's council run so quite reasonable and it's on a park so it's lovely and it's massive!
