Hi everyone!! Just thought I'd let you all know how our wedding day went!!
I've only got a few photos so I'll do a proper wedding report later on when we get more of those back through!
So, I knew the weather was 'meant' to be pretty bad. That didn't quite cover it.
I woke up on Sunday morning at 6.30am after a day of blistering heat and beautiful sunshine on Saturday, to find that, hurrah, there was blue sky, the sea was pretty calm, and there was no breeze. The ground was a little damp from the previous nights dew but nothing too bad. Maybe they were wrong after all and hurricane Bertha had decided to trail off to France after all…. I started to get ready with my bridesmaids and my hairdressers and it was fine, not a spot of rain, it was even sunny!! Then after we'd said the I do's and were signing the register my dad pointed out to me that the outside photos might have to wait a while…..It was absolutely hammering it down.
All morning it rained, until around 12.30 when there was a break in the rain and promises of waterproofed blankets for me to stand on we attempted to go outside, I stayed inside as I was a little dubious of the still looming grey clouds above. Good choice. Not five minutes after the other guests had stepped outside and had started to congregate in a group shot fashion a big blob of rain landed in the puddle i was watching as a reference point for rain stoppage. then another, then another, until it was full on monsoon rain, once again.
It didn't stop raining this time until about 20 minutes after the photographer had left, this was after the first dance. You've got to love the irony….. Anyway I had kind of prepared myself for the worst weather so anything other than torrential monsoon, flash flood rain was a bonus and whilst it did slow up a bit so our guests could see the sea, our quick thinking photographer was able to turn one of the other rooms into a mini photo studio so we were able to have our photos.
We had an amazing day and I cried way too much, as expected, and in the end the rain didn't bother me half as much as I thought it would!!
Anyway as promised, here are a few photos for you!
