We finally tied the knot on the 27th July ?
Here's my report!
Wednesday - I left work at a miss! I had the Thursday and Friday off of work and couldn't wait to finish all the last bits off.
Thursday - I started my day by having my lashes done. After that I went home to wait for my mum to finish work so we could go and pick up my dress! My auntie and uncle were also arriving that day so we couldnt wait to see them! 1pm we set off to pick up my dress and I ran into HMV to pick up the cd "Etta James - At Last" for the church walk. Got home, waited for my husband to get home before we went to have our teeth whitened. When we got back we spent the night giggling with the family in the garden thoroughly enjoying ourselves.
Friday - The LAST day. We went into town for 10am. Me, my mum and cousin set off for a loooong shopping day. My cousin needed a new bag and we needed our nails doing. After a long day shopping we made our way home. When we got home we went to drop the gifts off at the venue so they could be locked away overnight. They informed us the venue decorators, the backdrop and the candy bar hadn't turned up! I had a text from my balloons lady asking me to meet her at the venue at 7pm. So we left the venue, popped to the sunbed to top up our tan, dropped the CD off at the church and went home. We had to stick all the readings on to card and stick all the pages into the order of services. We had asked the kids to draw the order of services for us - they were brilliant! At this point H2B had gone golfing with my uncle and then on to TOBY CARVERY! As you can imagine we were all very jealous they had time to sit and eat! Before we knew it, it was 6:30pm. So I grabbed all the stuff I had to take to the venue that night and loaded it all downstairs. Then it was 6:55pm so my dad took me and my sister off to the venue to wait for the balloons to arrive whilst my mum said she would bring all the things when she came at 7:30pm. H2B went out that night with my dad and all the groomsmen. Balloons arrived, we dropped all our stuff off at the venue and we all had a gorgeous lunch! Afterwards it was back to my mums for more vino! We cracked open the champagne and had a really good night! My nerves still hadn't set in at this point. Our last guests left at 12:30am so me and my sister took ourselves up to sleep on the sofa in the living (our livingroom is on the second floor). We put family guy on and drifted off into a nice deep sleep.
*creeeeeeek* wow i'm wide awake. Its 4am and my sisters on a toilet run and I lay there with butterflies and a bit of tummy ache knowing that it was my wedding day! However, somehow I drifted back off into the land of nod and woke up to my alarm at 7am!
Saturday - Our wedding day.
Me and my sister woke up, sat for 15 minutes saying how crazy it was that it was finally the wedding day! We quickly made a move knowing the hairdresser was due to arrive at 8am. My dad was doing trips for us delivering things and giving things to the groom that i'd forgotten. At 8am the hairdresser arrived and started on the BMs hair. I grabbed my wheetabix then headed for the livingroom chatting to my BMs as they had their hair done. I had a card from H2B saying how much he loved me etc and a lovely text message too! ?
Photographer arrived at 10:30am, snapping away all morning. The flowers arrived at 11am as I was having my hair done, my BMs were gusting over how beautiful they were but weirdly... it still hadn't sunk in I was getting married! I finally had my veil put in and my mum burst into tears!!
I was the last ready, my BM's had their hair and makeup done and was putting on their jewellery as I first sat down to do my makeup. Then I heard "we have a disaster can we have a hairdryer in the bedroom please?"
Yep, my sister had her disaster in her dress. I was told the deodorant had marked her dress and they were cleaning her down then drying her off. At the same time my dad lost his shirt for his suit and we couldnt find it anywhere! Suit found, dress dry.. panic over. Phew. I'd just like to add later on that day I found out my sister had actually used my dads SHAVING FOAM as her deodorant and that was the actual disaster! Ha.
I look at the clock... 12:15pm, the first car is arriving at 12:30!! Everyone is dressed except me who's still walking around in a night shirt! My mum puts in my earrings for me and my necklace as I race upstairs with my auntie and mum to start putting my dress on. Basque on, chicken fillets in, hoop tied now for the dress. They put it over my head, I get jammed half way through. I'm hot, sweaty and rushed and feeling the pressure. I'm shouting at people to hurry up, hold my veil, watch my hair arghhh! Dress on, dress fastened.... time to walk downstairs. Everyone gushed over how amazing my dress was and how beautiful I looked, I felt a million dollars.
*knock knock* the driver was stood at the door telling us how the first car had to go... NOW! Aunties and uncles loaded in, car gone and time to lock up. Second car arrives so we all go outside, BMs in, mum in, gone. Peace. Me and my dad. I suddenly get bellyache, butterflies, hot sweats. I am getting married! Im stood in the road in my wedding dress with a glass of water in one hand and my dad telling me how gorgeous I look.
The car pulled up. Rolls Royce Phantom 3. My dad was in love. I crawled inside best I could and took up all the room in the back, my dad had to try and squeeze round me.
We finally pulled up to the church, I see the church, people taking photos, my 8 gorgeous bridesmaids stood waving and cheering at us and it gets me. I sit and I cry in the car. I'm so happy, i'm so in love, its just..... perfect! My dad helps me get a grip (or so he thought ha) and I made my way out of the car to get some air in my lungs. A few photos later, my BM's were walking up the steps. I stood behind them, knees trembling, hands shaking and sweating uncontrollably - glamorous I know! "Thank you for an amazing quiet and calm morning girls" I whisper. One turns round and says "shutup im going to cry again!!!!"
My usher lined up the first 4 bridesmaids, all under 7. "hold hands" "stand there" they stood quietly, not fidgeting. The vicar skipped through the CD and started playing hot stuff....yep that song from the full monty. Well everyone burst out laughing. The usher stood teary eyed saying how beautiful I was then the song played. He sent them two by two and the bridesmaid entered and walked perfect. We stopped at the door. The wedding march started and we took our first step.
And I went again, a blubbering mess looking at my future husband at the front of the altar. He didn't turn back to look. Cameras were flashing, people were crying! I got myself together before I hit the altar. My future husband turned to me and said "wow you look amazing" and started filling up. "no no dont cry i cant cry again!" i told him and he managed to gather himself together.
The service was amazing! And we left the church for the venue.
The venue was out of this world, it just looked amazing. I didn't wipe a smile off of my face for the whole day! We finally got home at 1:30am (i think the minibus got lost on the way back to pick us up ha). We sat at my mums until 3:30am opening our cards and smiling ear to ear.
Our day was perfect. We're so happy together and everyone said how obvious it was that we adored each other.
We are a very happy bride and groom counting down the days til our honeymoon!!!
