Do you trust or believe it?

    Not this far in advance.

The day before I might but then it's often wrong!

    Three words.

    "Michael. Fish. Hurricane".

At best weather forecasts are regional, so the storm might go 5 miles north or south of your venue and you have blue sky.

Your best bet is similar to what we had - alternative plans. If dry weather, depart down aisle, into side room to pick up welcome drink, then head to garden for photos. If wet, depart down aisle, into side room and bar to pick up welcome drink whilst hotel staff move ceremony chairs to clear that room so we can go back in for the photos.

On the day, as we stood up for our exit music it was chucking down with rain; by the time we'd got into the side room the sun was out again, and by the time the last guests had got into the garden the grass was dry again (we shot into the wb room for a few cake cutting shots and a few minutes together before making our 'grand entrance' into the garden. We then went across the road and spent an hour taking the official photos, and within 5 minutes of us being back indoors it was chucking it down again.

As our guests entered the garden - note the wet patio slabs.

Five minutes later as we had our grand entrance - note the same patio slabs.

The weather is the one and only thing you have absolutely no control over for your special day - so all you can really do is have alternative plans to defeat whatever the weather may throw at you.

At 13 days before I was forecast heavy rain [:'(]

OH then banned me from looking, but heard from Mother/auntie/Uncle/Dad, even the car man that the weather wasn't predicted to be good.

On the Tuesday before our Wednesday wedding me and OH looked and it still said heavy rain showers - so we invested in some brollies.

On the day I did indeed have showers all morning, and one heavy one the second I closed the car door to leave the house, but it lightened and I escaped all day despite the predictions.

I'd say, unless there is some strange reason you need to know, don't look 'till 3 days before, or even less when it is more accurate, you can still do something about it, but in those last few days, I can promise you'll have more important things to consider! And regardless of the weather - you'll have a fab day!
