Congratulations on your engagement! You still have lots of time- some Hitchers are just very organised ? Have you booked your venue yet?

    Hi, and welcome to Hitched.

We picked our venue about 8 weeks ago (November wedding), and have only booked the DJ.

We've meet a Hitched Photographer and were impressed, but still need to meet a 2nd Photographer before we can decide.

October is outside of the main "wedding season", so suppliers are less busy compared to June/July/Aug/September.

I would suggest you create a list... Carmen and I are using Google Docs, as its easy to share and update (we can both see it).

Anyway, some basics to think about, I've tried to keep to some kind of order- but once the date/venue/ceremony is set, the invites should be sent to ensure your guests have plenty of notice.

    -Registar/Church

    -Venue

    -Invites

    -Rings

    -Dress

    -Photographer

    -Entertainment

    -Decorations (table/room/flowers/chair covers etc)

Most weddings are different and everyone has different priorities.

The venue may have their preferer suppliers, but its also worth speaking to other suppliers you find and making your own mind up.

Whilst their preferered supplier should be able to provide a good service, they may not have been your 1st choice!

As our wedding is less than a month after yours (we're 5th November), don't feel too bad - we're only marginally ahead! ?

    Jason
