Wedding band cost

Decorated_Doll, 23 May, 2014 at 23:00 Posted on Planning 0 9

So my H2B has enquired about how much a local band (who is is friends with some of the members of) charges for playing and it seems like a lot.

Just wondering how much one should expect to pay? And how long they are likely to play for?

We are having a 4 piece band and they are £1150. They are playing for 2 hours and will play some music in between their sets. I am just hoping they turn up on the day! That is my biggest worry at the moment!!

Hi, Have you got a written contract with your band? Have they got a professional website and do they have positive reviews and recommendations? If all the answers are yes then just keep in contact with them every few months.

Yes we have a contract and I also have wedding insurance, they have a website and were recommended to me by a band we originally wanted to book but they were already booked elsewhere. The entertainment is so important to me as I am a real music fan and the demos I have heard are brilliant and I guess I just want everything like all brides to run as smoothly as possible.

I'd expect £500 to £1500 for the band. As with any skilled provider, eg band, photographer, videographer, their rate will vary according to how popular they are, their level of skill and the service they provide. With bands I think the more members you have the higher the price too.

    Hey Pandabarney!

Sounds like you've got it all sorted! Keep in contact with them to put your mind at ease. Ask them for advice on timings and then have an amazing reception!!

    Hello

The answer to the question lies in how good the band are! You really do get what you pay for in this area.

Also have a think about your guests, if you stick to one type of music (i'm talking extremes IE: Ceilidh, Heavy Rock, Queen tribute act etc) you may not cover everybody's tastes which will ulitmately end in an empty dance floor, never good!

Best going for a band that can do justice to a good mixture of songs.

Our prices start from £850, happy to chat via email to anybody looking (we are more or less fully booked this year though and next year is flying out fast)

    Good luck

    J
