Wedding booze watch...

Storky, 12 April, 2011 at 13:15 Posted on Planning 0 20

Ladies and gents of Hitched,

Please keep your beady eyes peeled for any offers on spirits when at the supermarket/wine merchants etc if you'd be so kind. I'm starting my quest for evening spirits and would like to make my hard earned cash go as far as possible!

Thanks in advance - a virtual G&T is coming your way!

    Thank you!

Thankfully all of the wine, champagne and beer is already ticked off. It's just spirits and bottled lager left to purchase.

I was doing my online food shopping yesterday and has a sneaky peak at the alcohol sections just to see if there were any bargains - like to stock up when its on offer!

Asda have 'rollbacks' on Pimms, Gordon's, Smirnoff and Morgan's rum - £13 or £16 for 1 litre bottles

Tesco are doing 2 for £26 on Bombay Sapphire, Pimms, Malibu.

    HTH!

    Very helpful, thanks all!

What spirits would you drink? Current plan is gin, vodka, rum (white or dark?) and maybe a whisky. We also need some port. Omnomnom.

I have a Costco card but there is no way I'm going to have a chance to get there over the next 3 weeks, unfortunately.

I would drink all of the above plus bacardi. Lime cordial and soda or cranberry is quite popular for the lady vodka drinkers I have noticed but I am sure you have the mixers covered.

I think vodka, gin whisky and rum would please all the spirit drinkers. If you were only having three i would not bother with the rum.

    I'd want Vodka please!

If your thinking of buying online - make sure you look of for the deals of £x when you make your first online order.

If you've got time to look, a comparison site like this might help:

    I'm a dark rum drinker.

When we had a house party the spirits that were most popular were vodka, rum (dark and white) and southern comfort and pimms. Really depends on the type of guests though I would say....

We've bought: vodka, ordinary whiskey, JD, Southern Comfort, Malibu, Bacardi, Gin, Baileys. I *think* thats it!

We got them a while ago so cant really help with offers, but we didnt get them all from one place. IIRC some were from Tesco and some from Sainsburys.

    HTH
