Does anyone know what a reasonable price of a wedding cake with three tiers to feed 95 guests would be?

    I got quoted

    350 for plain

    450 for decorated

    About 100 for a M&S one and it's 3 for 2 at the moment.

I am guessing it depends on the style and fillings etc.

I used the Wedding Cake Guide found at http://www.iamengaged.co.uk/Planning/Cakes/choosing_a_wedding_cake to help me choose my wedding cake and I have 80 guests with 2 different fillings in 3 tiers and it is coming to £290 which I felt was a little expensive but reasonable compared to some wedding cake makers.

I'm no expert on cakes but to give you an idea we are having a 4 tiered take, 3 layers sponge and one layer fruit, decorated with iced flowers. Our quote is around £300 and thats "mates rates" as she is a family friend.

But as the above post says M&S cakes will work out much cheaper and its what we would have gone for if we didn't know someone in the cake making business. HTT
