Wedding Cars - to view or not to view?

mils123, 14 May, 2014 at 16:21 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi

Just after a bit of advice regarding wedding cars. I've seen a package online that looks great, good price etc. But before going ahead, I'm wondering if I should be going to view the cars first. I don't want to commit to all that money when then them turn up on the day and be really shoddy? The company has really good pictures and testimonials but is about an hour and a half drive away, close to our venue and I don't really want to go all that way if it's not necessary and it's not the done thing! What has everyone else done? Or, can anyone recommend a lovely hire car company in North Yorkshire? Thanks Smiley smile

    Hi Milis123,

We went to view our wedding car as we couldn't choose between two, so we wanted to sit in them both to see how they felt, and we also wanted to meet the driver. But we are only 15 mins away from our wedding cars.

Have you spoken to the company over the phone? I would say that as long as you feel comfortable with them and reassured, then book it! Another thing worth checking would be if the company have any reviews online? Its always good to see what other people say about a company!

Unfortunately I can't recommend anyone in North Yorkshire, as we are based in the Midlands! xx

I didn't see my car till it turned up on the morning of my wedding. My H booked it and I had no idea what car would arrive (although I had a guess). He didn't go and view them but he did see pictures online. I don't think I would have gone 1.5 hrs just to see a car but it depends on what is important to you. To me as long as I had a car I was happy. It's a small part of the day I had 5 mins to the church and was nervous/excited so didn't care about the car then I had 45 mins to the venue but again I was talking to my new husband and as long as we were in a car not walking I didn't mind!

However if cars are your thing it might be worth it. I only travelled to see things if they were going to be deal breakers.

Thank you! Great help! I really didn't want to have drive that far as cars are really not my thing either. As long as it's got wheels and looks pretty! I just didn't want to not go see it if that was the 'done thing' so to speak. We've got about a 20 minute drive from church to venue so I am looking forward to having that time with just my dad on the way up and then with my OH on the way back.

Only spoke via email so far as I've just had my tonsils out and can only squeak and not yet talk. Thought I would take this opportunity to do some wedding research and send a few emails out. But will give them a call before booking anything. Going to go check out some reviews now! Thanks again Smiley smile
