Wedding Colours...

Mrs2013, 22 January, 2012 at 17:35 Posted on Planning 0 22

Well ladies I was wondering if anyone can help, or flash me some inspiration.

I only want to pick colours early as I am working away alot this year and wanted to have a few things in mind so when I settle back UK based for good I can go dress and BM dress shopping.

Me and OH have been debating all day..... I LOVE peach he days reminds him of old bathrooms, I wamted to go for neautral colours as my venue is VERY modern, I dont want something too bright as the venue is dressed in black linen (white looks awful)

Please help me if there are any ideas, colours, help you have in mind.

Xx

My venue is very 'neutral' as to cater for all weddings. I went for blue bridesmaid dresses as I just wanted blue but am having orange flowers and an orange/blue colour theme through the day to break up the neutralness!!

Its worth going to your venue and taking some samples with you, I was a bit put off when my photographer suggested orange flowers for my blue bridesmaids but an actual fact it looks brill!

I went to a wedding and the them was black and gold, was absolutely gorgeous. this might tie in with the black linen, or black and silver too?

Blushing bride - another thing I like but marrying in August thought it might be too wintery?

Hmm, with black linen, I agree neutral would work best, or you could do a black and white theme. Oooh, or black, white, and red, like this:

Or this black and white one (I especially love the cake):

Or black, white, and pink like these invitations:

Aaand finally, I think these kinds of colours would look good not only with the silver linen shown, but with black, too:

Hope these helped with the inspiration, sorry I couldn't find anything with black and pink! Are you a member of pinterest? It's a great source of inspiration!

I am not really liking the black and white with it being a summer wedding, I think maybe will look wintery??

The chairs are balck and silver, so maybe the last pics would look nice, its just my fiance loves lilac, purple but I have never really liked it and dont think I would like it for my wedding although the pic you have put on looks fab.

Thanks so much, Ill look at pinterest xx

What's the name of your venue? Or do you have any pictures? We might be able to come up with some better ideas if we can see the place

How about a very pale sage green and ivory? Or a very pale peach, like a nude sort of colour? Pale pink?

Or rather than neutral, you could go bright, with hot pink or orange/coral?

Oh wow! That's gorgeous! The above user who suggested a pale sage green and ivory- such a good idea!! sage green would look amazing in there, and I think you could use a peachy pale pink along with it, if you think you'd like more than one colour aside from black. I would throw in some lilac in the flower arrangements as well, just to make your OH happy Smiley smile

I don't know, why not? I'm probably not a good person to ask about BM dresses as I'm so anti most of them, having had a bad experience in one. I always think either black or ivory dresses are best, but with a ribbon sash around the waist to go with the colour scheme. Whatever you end up choosing, though. Post pictures when you do!

OP- your venue is pretty similar to mine it has the black floors and tables and white walls. I am having red and i have recently seen photo's of a wedding last year there who also had red. As the walls and tables are a mix of dull and light the red seems to sit in the middle. I was worried about having red for a June wedding but we both love it. I know not everyone's cup of tea though.
