Wedding colours ??

lollie14lollie, 13 June, 2012 at 21:47 Posted on Planning 0 13

I like the idea of grey yellow and ivory for my spring wedding but when talking to most people they look at me with a grimace ?

Was just wondering what colours you other brides are going for ??

Grey, yellow and ivory sounds lovely to me!

We're having ivory, dark green, claret and gold for our November wedding (wanted warm and rich colours in case it's foggy/rainy/snowing etc - Hehehe!!)

Sounds fine to me. You'll always find someone will turn their nose up at something you pick/chose/do. Talk to your OH and as long as you're both happy, stuff everyone else.

We've gone for ivory, pink and green.

There's nothing wrong with yellow and grey! Most people just don't have a mind capable of imagining what it will look like, but there are plenty of examples on the web of the combination:

I threw in the green to offset the reds/pinks/and browns, and we've ended up going for an antique-y english rose garden theme.

Thanks ladies I feel so much better and now sure thats the colour, my oh is happy with colours as well! What do you ladies think about short ivory bridesmaids ? Originally I thought about grey bridesmaids but my oh wants grey suits and thought grey suits and grey bridesmaids may be too grey ? What do you think?

    Thanks for your help ?

You could go with a silvery grey, rather than a darker grey, so they coordinate with the suits but stand out. Although silver is a tricky colour to wear as it isn't all that forgiving, but I'm sure if you got the right style and fit it would be lovely.

I think grey gresses will look gorgeous and fine next to the grey suits...

I would go with grey for the bridesmaid dresses. You can get lots of different shades of grey. D is wearing a grey suit but to me it looks more like black, until you put it next to the black suit. The picture Dabbot posted is lovely.
