Wedding competitions

I entered loads when we first got engaged, but not won a sausage!!

Do a few now and then when I can be bothered, but got a bit disheartened tbh

I do them now and again but have never won anything...

I havent entered any wedding comps as such, but I did enter onein the Daily mail a few years ago and we won a weeks holiday to South Africa! Just wanted to say dont give up.. they can be won(I used to never win anything before lol)! ?

I never win anything i still enter but never win cant remember the last thing i did win

I would say pick and choose, more national competitions and comptitions which dont mean you have to comit to anything are usually best, "youve got to be in it to win it."

but...

I know some photographers where they say win free wedding photography - so you book - but in reality there is no winner. I have also known this to happen with holiday vouchers. most use it as a way to gather information.

I suppose in thinking about it ask when the draw is and where the winner will be listed.

Its unfair to tarnish everyone with the same brush, but it seems to me that a lot of these wedding competitions are run purely as promotions for the companies giving away the 'prizes'

and I've heard that in most cases, they give the prizes to the couples they think would be most likely to promote their products, which generally means someone from a weathly area, because they are likely to have weathly friends.

Sorry, but I'm very wary of these things.

But I'm sure there are many genuine competitions run by the magazines etc.
