Wedding Day Itinery....HELP!

punchbowl, 18 February, 2013 at 16:32 Posted on Planning 0 3

OK....so ive been engaged for 5 days and am already deep in the planning stages :-) Lovvin this!

However, I am struggling to put an Itinery together.....i will not be doing the usual 3-course wedding breakfast for my guests...I want to have the ceremony and then photos etc and then onto the reception with a hot and cold buffet.

What time should the ceremony be?

What time should I feed people?

All opinions would be greatly appreciated thanks :-)

Are you planning to have the same guests all day or day and evening guests? Are you happy to feed guests twice? If not then I think you'll need your buffet at something resembling tea time ie 6pm otherwise people will be hungry again.

We're getting married at 1pm and eating at 3.30pm to give you an idea of the time in between the two.

    Hello and welcome!

    The worlds your oyster really.

Do you want an evening bash?

Will you be married in the same place as the reception?

What time of year do you want to get married?

    How many guests?

This is what we're doing - drinks before wedding 4:30-5, ceremony 5:15-6, photos/canapes 6-7:15, 7:15-7:30, speeches, 7:30-9:30 dinner (we're having a 5 course meal), 9:30-whenever (caterers at venue until 4am but we imagine it won't go on much beyond midnight) digestifs/cocktails/games.

My advice would be not to feel pressured into having an early wedding! Smiley smile

This. You need to set your ceremony and reception venues first and see how far apart they are. They may have restrictions and in the case of a civil ceremony, the registrar may well do so too. I would have loved a 1pm wedding but our registrar only does 2pm or 3.30pm on Saturdays.
