Are you having a church or civil ceremony?

If civil, is it in the same place as your reception or somewhere else?

If the ceremony is not at the reception venue, how far away is it?

How many guests do you have to daytime and evening?

We're getting married at 1pm so not much different. It's worthwhile talking to your venue about timings for things like the wedding breakfast as they'll have an idea of how long they need.

    Hi,

Sorry forgot to add that lol, im having a church ceremony which is at the venue that i picked, so no need for transport. My guests will be at about 100 daytime guests, and as we live far away from the venue, it will only be prob a additional 10 evening guest

    thanks

I am getting married in June and our ceremony starts at 2pm.

I think we are aiming to sit down for our wedding breakfast at about 4pm.

Seems like 1/2pm is quite popular.

Ok so what Han says about speaking to the venue about wedding breakfast times is good.

As an approximate I'd go for:

    1.30 - Ceremony

2.15 - Photos and reception drinks

    4.00 - Dinner

    7.00 - Evening reception

Our ceremony (that and everything else is all in the same hall) is at 1.30pm.

After that there's drinks and clear off outside for bouncy castle, games, photos etc.

Meal at 4pm (but not dessert), then speeches x4

Then everyone outside (5.30 ish) which gives us chance to switch the hall around, set up the DJ etc etc

Dessert is at 6pm but it's outside because it's an ice cream van

    Evening reception at 7pm

We feel there's enough downtime for people not to get bored, but enough 'stuff' to keep everything rolling on.
