Wedding Decoration workshop

Catlady, 15 September, 2013 at 10:42 Posted on Planning 0 10

Hi all,

I am getting married next Summer and like many other Bride's I plan to save costs by making loads of the decorations and stationary myself.

I need to get cracking soon and have had an idea that I wanted to run past you all...

What would motivate me to get started would be attending a workshop for a day that gave me a tutorial on how to make lots of different things like paper pom poms, bunting, invitations etc

So I was thinking I might run one?

Do you guys think people might like attend?

I suppose it doesn't just have to be for weddings.

    Hi,

I wouldn't necessarily attend this myself as I'm not planning on making too many things.

I did however go to a wedding fayre last week and one of the stalls was for a DIY wedding workshop, with examples of DIY things she had made and a sign up sheet. The stand was busy all day with people signing up so I think it could be quite popular.

A nice thing to do with bridesmaids or Mum/motg too!

Now the more I think about it..it sounds really fun and would probably inspire me to make more things for the wedding!

Well thats encouraging about the wedding fayre person.

Maybe I will do it then.... Or I could deliver "craft parties" at peoples homes, like you say for hens etc.

    Thanks Mrs Boo, great idea!

Even if you were making things that I wasn't planning on making for my own wedding I'd still probably attend if it was a good price, and bring my sister along too. It's the sort of thing that I'd really enjoy and I think that it would be really useful for those who don't have a lot of crafting experience.

I'd love to be more DIY with our wedding but not making much plainly as I can't, but if there was a class near me i'd definitely attend and get started on my own things Smiley smile Would be fun for people to get involved in and as someone suggested would be good for BM's & MOB etc x

    I would love this.

As someone said before, even if i didn't want to do DIY decoration (which i do) I would still love to go to a workshop. I want to do everything weddingy that I can while I have the chance Smiley smile
