Wedding Diet Ideas and Help

OneHartOrTwo, 14 March, 2017 at 17:46 Posted on Planning 0 5

So I've just started the dreaded wedding diet again. I tried Slimfast in December but I was feeling sluggish and frankly hungry so I stopped and just tried to go to the gym a an extra day each week (now going 2-3 times).

I have now joined Slimming World and I'm only on day 2 so I know very new but I wondered what had worked for everyone else? What kind of meal plans you had? and if you had any tips?

Thanks xx

    Hi!

I'm on Slimming World too - been doing it on and off for 7 years now. It definitely works, I rejoined in January and got my half stone award on Saturday. It's coming off slowly, but at least it's coming off! Stick with it, promise it's worth it!

I wanted to lose weight and really struggled as I work evenings so it did work very well. But I've lost 1 and a half stone in 4 months. I didn't do a proper diet as I have no will power at all. But all I've done is swap my rice and pasta for brown rice and pasta. Drank loads of water and cut out fizz and take outs. and went out for a half hour to an hour walk every evening when I wasn't working. Tbh I think a lot of my weight came off because of stress. But now my dress is too big so I have lost a fair bit.

other than that I can't say I have any tips as such. But my nan was on slimming world and she did really well Smiley smile

I'd recommend Slimming World - I lost 4 stone on it when I first joined!

Stick with it and write everything down Smiley smile

If you aren't already, incorporate weights into your gym routine. Lean muscle burns a ton of calories, even at rest, so building it is fantastic. You won't look like a body builder, but it will make you look nice and lean and toned Smiley smile

Another vote for Slimming World, I have lost 2 stone with Slimming World and I am now toning up with twice weekly clubbercise classes.

I have never felt healthier than I do now ?

I reckon more regular exercise might do the trick. I know getting to the gym isn't always possible, so try a really intense quick workout at home in the morning 3 or 4 times a week in addition to extra cardio and toning at the gym. I've been doing Brandon Carter's furious fat burner on YouTube, and as cheesy as it is, it certainly gets your heart rate up!! Do change it up every now and again though.

I'm not convinced by Slimfast-style diets, though I know they do work for some people. They're just not sustainable, and I want to use my wedding as a 'trigger' to get in shape and hopefully stay there!

I lose weight when I cut carbs and sugar right down, drink lots of water and just try not to eat when I'm not hungry. If I really need a treat, I go for a really good steak, or some cheese (without bread)

It's hard being healthy when you're saving for a wedding though, as the cheapest food is the naughty stuff!

    Thanks girls!

I've just finished my first week and I only lost 2lbs but I know I was a little naughty at the weekend so if I know that's a pattern I might flexi-syn weekends.

I've also switched everything to wholemeal and added a 3rd gym session each week so hopefully it will start coming off, I've got 8 months to lose.
