Wedding Doldrums.....

TheNinjaPigeon, 27 August, 2010 at 09:33 Posted on Planning 0 6

Humph - I have 5 months to go and I seem to have done most of the stuff I need to until we get into the fine details. What are you meant to do in the lull? Don't want to lose my wedding mojo but I seem to have stalled. I am looking at the huge pile of stuff that has been accumulated for the wedding and am a bit gloomy that I can't do anything with it yet. Just a little moan - sorry.

Do you have a website for your wedding? If not, you could always design one! That should keep your mojo going without just going over and over what you've already done. I guess this is where the Wedding OCD has its bad points! I'm dreading this stage... luckily we still have lots to do and my fabric swatches arrived today so I can really get my teeth into this dressmaking lark!

If you are making any crafty stuff for your wedding you can always start it now. I wish I'd started my orders of service a bit eariler. The problem is that its really easy to add to your budget because you've loads of time on your hands to research "extras".

I started going swimming, and told myself it was wedding prep Smiley smile

Swimming can easily qualify - you want the fitness to carry your dress all day! Planning out my orders of service, even without final details isn't a bad idea, and I do have my postbox to make. I thought I'd be able to switch off for a couple of months but I guess that's just not possible!!

Date twin and emotion twin! I know exactly how you feel. I am down to just paying for things every month now which is the boring bit! Its quite hard every pay day to spend it all out, have nothing, and at the moment feel you have nothing to show for it! I also have a spare room full of wedding stuff that seems like its never going to be used, especially as I have had some of it for over a year.

Our time will come, if you think of what we have left in weeks it really isnt that many and soon Christmas etc will start to distract us. I dont think there is any switching off for us now!

Ah my date twin - thank goodness you feel the same. I know what you mean about the paying - it seems to be neverending. I've decided to shift all my wedding stuff down the A1 to my mum's in leeds so that I'm not looking at it all the time. That might help a little bit.

5 months on sunday Laura and I'll be getting picked up to go to the church!!

It's getting to be that I can't think about anything without putting it wedding context!
