Wedding dress *flash*

avintagebride, 19 September, 2010 at 10:52 Posted on Planning 0 24

Thanks for the instructions on how to do this girls!

Ok, I'm torn between 2 dresses. Unfortunately the pic of the seond one is with the model sitting down so you don't get to see it very well (why do they do that?!)

The first is Charlotte Balbier- Tabitha in Ivory.

This was 'the one' but I've tried another one on and I'm in turmoil! This fits in perfectly with my vintage theme aswell.

The second one is Phil Collins

I just don't what to do, and shouldn't it be easy. I thought you knew when you found THE dress, so maybe it's neither?? Arghh!!!

Anyway ladies, what do you think?

Ooh they are both lovely....but i like number 2 the best....i have tried a couple like that on, and i like the cut of the top. Its curved and not straight across...very flattering.

Hi Laura! I think you have me in a quandry too!! Between the 2 I prefer the 2nd, but I love that the first is quite unique and an unusual design. I also think that the first has the most 'vintage' look. Sometimes its hard for me to pick between two dresses, because I end up asking myself 'which one would i wear?' and I dont have the kind of figure that could carry off the first so maybe that sways my decision! I think that if you have the figure for the first it could be a real showstopper!

But they are both gorgeous. So sorry Ive probably not been much help!!

What kind of theme are you having for the wedding? As sidsidney syas the first one does have a very Vintage feel to it and would suit that style of wedding.

The 2nd is much more Modern and would suit a bright Contemporary theme.

    Hi Laura,

I have to say I'm going against the grain, I love the first one! It's so unique, I think it's really classy and vintagey (I'm a bit biased as my theme is vintage/spring garden).

Tough choice though I have to say! x

My theme is vintage, because it is themed around my ER which is 1920's art deco! Eek, I'm taking my bridesmaids for another try on session, only Mum came with me yesterday so I'm hoping they can help.

Another thing which I think is influencing my choice is that the second one was almost my size just a little too big, whereas the first one was 2 sizes to big and had to be pinned to death! So it was easier to imagine myself in the 2nd one.

    What a to do!

Thanks for all your opinions girls xx

Definately the 1st one for a Vintage theme,. it is perfect and once it has been altered to fit it will feel better.

I love the 1st one...In fact I've tried this on in antique gold and as it stands this is the dress for me.... I've only tried a few on and the Tabitha dress felt gorgeous on. If you're going for the vintage look then its the Tabitha dress that gets my vote !!! Charlotte Bablier does some gorgeous dresses so not sure if you've tried any more of her dresses on or just the Tabitha dress ??? Godd luck !

out of the 2 i prefer the second one. But I think that the dress does not look well on the model in the 1st pic. It looks like its too big for her or something! both lovely dresses tho. You needa keep shopping nd tryin on by looks of it til you decide on the one! But you will know when you find it...fear not!!

I prefer the first one too, it's lovely, more unique and more vintage-y. It's the style of dress I really liked when I was first looking, but they just look completely wrong on me...If you've got the figure to carry it off, definitely go for it!

They are both very beautiful and I love the second one but think that the first would be perfect for your vintage theme.

I LOVE the first one, it's more original and not like most other gowns that are worn. I might be shot for this comment but I don't care lol, I think at times majority of gowns can just look like a "typical" wedding dress, i.e. they all just look like a white/ivory dress, nothing stunning or unusual about them.

The 2nd one without a doubt for me. I don't like the way the first one cuts right across the legs and think that makes it look unbalanced. The 2nd one is stunning though.

Would you need to wear a bra because it doesn't look like the first one can have a bra underneath and doesn't look that structured to hold big boobs in place without a bra! I'm rather top heavy and got away without wearing a bra but only because my dress had a great corset in it.

It has a sort of built in bra, but I wouldn't need to worry about one as i'm only a B cup X

That is sooo hard. They are both beautiful dresses. Do you have pics of you in them?

I think if I had to pick I would go with the first. I love the straps and the details on the dress is gorgeous. If you are having a vintage theme, then like you say it would fit in great with that.
